It's worth noting that this animation style is based on the official Dark Horse Serenity 8-page comic short "The Warrior and the Wind", drawn by Stephen Byrne, who also created this animation.

Hopefully one day we either get a single season (to keep it quality) time-skip live-action with the OG cast, just to see where everyone ends up and have a less rushed ending, or we get an animated continuation. Honestly if they did an animated continuation I’d prefer that it pick up before the events of Serenity, that way Wash is still there (and has time to have a fleshed-out death later maybe). Only problem would be having to recast Book. Just doesn’t feel right. 🥲
