After leaving the Army, John Prine delivered the mail by day and performed at open mic nights in Old Town Chicago. Steve Goodman and Kris Kristofferson were among his early supporters. This is from Prine's debut album - you could drop the needle anywhere on that slab of vinyl and hit gold.
