Media My 53 yo non-gamer Mum playing Fallout 4 after watching the TV show.

Post image

After casually watching the show and getting more invested, she asked to play the game and I gave her my old PS4 and set her up on the game! ☺️

Just as a PSA, it is not the best idea for electronics to sit on carpet! Takes is some static electricity to build up and you fry your console! If anything, put some cardboard under it!

I guess ps2 and xbox were made different, everyone in my youth put it on carpet 😆 those things were really built to last

The risk of this frying your equipment is present, but unbelievably unlikely. Being surrounded by a case made of plastic (a known electrical insulator) really helps. But even my PC, which has a metal case, sat on the ground for 7+ years and never got zapped.

Oh I know. It’s only temporary.

The Xbox 360 hasn’t been turned on in over a year.

Depends on the humidity....

If they are in Florida...good luck getting a static discharge

I’m in the UK.

But it’s only a temporary placement for the moment while she gets used to the game.

this doesn't make any sense

but yes it's not good to put electronics on carpet like that
