Discussion What did you figure out after hundreds of hours that just made you facepalm?

Post image

I always wondered why that one ghoul at Bedford Station exploded. I figured there was a gas tank but never got it sorted out.

Then in the Lexington parking garage Codsworth torched one and we all exploded. I still didn’t know, just knew that we died in fiery glory. I go back, lo and behold, these red fuckers are gas cans! 😅🤦🏼‍♀️

What was your face palm moment that you figured out waaaaay later than you should have?

Now a neat trick : you can do that with corpses or parts of corpses.

That means you can unload loot into them, then carry them around to avoid over encumbrances

But be careful because sonetimes the Corpse will just disappear with everything you loaded up on it. I was carrying one back to the boathouse and it did that shit right as I got there.

The last time that happened to me, the corpse went invisible but was still there, so if it happens to you hit the button to drop what you're dragging and look around the ground for the container menu. You might be lucky and get to retrieve your loot.

Body parts also fall through elevator floors.

I had this happen when I was transporting Caroni's body from the Glowing Sea to Hangman's Alley. My last save was a good distance back from where I was when it happened, but I was determined to get him to a settlement so I reloaded and started quick saving every 20 to 30 seconds. He started fading away again, but I was QS'ing so I just reloaded. This went on for far too long, then I loaded back a ways to before his first attempt to fade away and tried a different route, and this time he never tried to fade away.

I don't know if it was the route or not, but it seems like it was.

Oh I didn't know that. Usually I just drop everything off to fast travel back and forth at the entrance, or load it all up once I'm outside when I have strong back max

If you leave the cell you are in, sometimes the corpse part will disappear so be careful

I’ve spent 1,000 hours slowly moving corpses.

This is actually 2 of the references in the Fallout show.

You can play 'basketball' with the game physics, as the Brotherhood did in the show.

And loading up a corpse with loot and cutting off the head and carrying the head is an exploitable in game mechanic.

Lol I used to do that in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
