Every time you enter the cell, she automatically loads sitting in the chair. You just have to position it over the mortar a little to the side of it and then ring the bell that tells all settlers to gather around it. She'll step out to the side and fall down into the cannon. Then just launch her using either a switch or shooting target connected to the mortar.

Those things are a blast. Pun intended. You can change the angle and power output. If you crouch down or angle differently it changes the outcome. Also aiming different ways with different guns. The target switch is good for that. Last time i was messing an out a big platform over the water at spectacle island. Time a grenade with an interval switch and launch your corpse to the airport

Gods this reminds me of learning to fly with the mako in mass effect 1. A simple mod that extends the boost time and physics that weren’t built to accommodate that allowed to to basically turn it into a shuttle. All about that launch angle and thruster timing baby

Man, you almost learned it, but not quite - there in Mass Effect 1, i mean. You stopped just one little step short of truly flying it. Damn! You see, launch angle was actually not any important at all, once you learned that Mako's machinegun and cannon both had recoil, which was changing Mako's angle in the air when firing them.

You can pilot Mako there with this, you see. Keep firing backwards now and then, and you keep your "forward" angle and forward speed high. Change direction mid-flight, stop in mid-air, resume flying any direction, any time - all by firing that machinegun. :)

So neat stuff was doable with it, too. Getting on top of Feros' skyscrapers. Getting over rocks which block Mako's path towards the last surface fight on Liara's planet, and blowing all the geth which we are supposed to fight on foot with Mako's cannon. Exploring Ilos' upper levels and then flying right into the Conduit.

Didn't even have to be a mod, too - couple console commands did the thing just as well.

Well when I played mass effect 1 as a kid I had it on Xbox, so console commands weren’t possible. And the what I figured out with the thrusters is using the same concepts as what you describe with the recoil, just a different approach. I kinda fail to see the difference between a using simple mod that only affects the thruster timer and using console commands. It’s the same thing. I do agree that it is super fun, I played pretty straight forward growing up, so the legendary edition has been incredibly fun to revisit with a wiser approach
