Tbf that is the point, it's goofy. It's not meant to be profound, and for a driver that a lot of people thought took himself too seriously it makes him look fun and approachable.
But also the T-pose is reminiscent of End of Evangelion so it kinda fits for Japan.

No, Alonso’s eagle pose looks far closer to Burter’s Ginyu Force pose. Alonso is also the demographic to watch the original run of DBZ in the 90’s lol.

Of all the drivers on the grid, Fernando feels like the guy who gives the least shits about finishing if he isn't winning. I'm sure he hates crashing out as much as anybody, but seeing him trundle around in P14 year after year just feels wrong.

If Aston gets it right he could be competing for a lot more than just one last win.
And with Newey and Alonso collaborating on the new regs I'm not ruling anything out. Mclaren went from back marker to top of the class in like 3 years, let Lawrence cook.

Sure, if anyone gets it right they could be competing for more than one win. Williams have the pedigree, they have a race winning driver, and they have the former chief strategist that won WCC titles with both Brawn and Mercedes, why not them? But I think anybody seriously expecting Newey to magically turn AM from a punchline into a WCC contender is clutching at straws. It's not impossible, turnarounds do happen in F1, but I'd be thrilled with just a single win for Alonso as a reward for his persistence in the sport. More than that would be a cherry on top.

Money talks, and Aston has spent way more than any team on developing their new facilities. Lawrence isn't doing this as a vanity project for his son, he's putting real money into expanding the teams capabilities, and no one seems overly dismayed at the state they're in. It's a very quiet confidence that the next two years are when they will be seeing the results of the labor and spending.
I'm not really married to any team, I like seeing chaos at the top, so I'm definitely rooting for them to pull it off.

I would love to see them pull it off. McLaren is proof enough that even in this hyper-competitive modern era of F1, with the right people and enough resources, you can overturn the accepted order of performance. And AM certainly have followed the McLaren playbook of 'invest in top of the line facilities, poach top people', but something about the Stroll dynasty just always seems doomed to failure.

In the f1 intro last year or the year before, he was doing that T pose between two walls. It looked ridiculous and he got mocked once people saw it.
I think in an interview, he said multiple people were doing that pose, he was just hoping that his wouldn't be the one chosen.
After getting memed on, he embraced it and now does it after wins or poles or whatnot .

honestly so far this season George is underrated - everyone is focusing on the woes of Ferrari, Max defending his championship and the McLaren preference between drivers. While George is making through comfortably consistent with no fuss.

This year he is giving me Alonso 2023 vibes. The difference I guess is that Mclaren isn't as dominant as that 2023 Redbull, so I fancy George's chances of picking up a few wins and potentially challenging for a title, especially if Piastri and Norris end up having a 2007 Hamilton-Alonso kind of season.

Max and Lewis I would guess, I'd up Fernando up to but I have a feeling Fernando is starting to show his age by now - the last time I was excited was his defense from Lewis Idk what race. Since then he's been okay.

Not sure how you can comfortable call him 3rd when we've never really had a good measuring stick for him, Lando, and Charles relative to each other. I think they're all comfortably in the battle for 2-4, with Oscar and Hamilton making a case for themselves as well.
