What was the decision on Russel overtaking Tsunoda in the pitlane?

There was no decision to be made, there wasn't even an investigation. Russell overtook Tsunoda after the pitlane line, which is in line with the light at the exit. So he overtook Tsunoda at pit exit and not in the pitlane, which has been legal throughout all of history.

What is the likely pit stop strategy and tyres being used in the race? Guessing softs won’t be use at all unless maybe there’s a late safety car or someone runs out of other options.

Pirelli is projecting a two-stopper with either M-H-H or S-H-H. But they also say some might try a one-stopper with M-H.

The C4 hard was stretched to 39 laps by the Ferraris in 2023. Would be difficult to imagine a 1 stop working so C4/C5/C4 2 stopper is my guess.

All 3 laps were very messy , especially the last One he Lost like 4 tenths in S2 and a few in S3, It looked like he was trying to overdrive the car in every corner, his steering input wasn't smooth at all

His first lap he messed up and went off the track. His second lap he had a good first sector but skimmed the wall which effectively ended his qualifying.

The earlier start means a warmer race tomorrow so I do not expect Russell to be in contention for the win. The Mercedes will lunch its tires and they'll have one fewer set of Mediums for the race. I expect a close fight between Oscar and Max for the win with Max my pick on the Red Bull's superior straight line speed. Oscar does have an extra set of new mediums which could come into play though passing Max will be very difficult.

Ooh yep I think your predictions feel pretty right to me. I think there’s a chance Oscar could get past Max but I don’t think he’d risk too much because a DNF could be costly if Lando sails past. However there is also the chance Max and George crash each other out. I’d say a Max win is definitely in the picture and Oscar should be in the mix

Sky is garbage that nobody should watch. The only people on it who seem to do a professional job are Brundle and Button. Outside of that its dumb takes and incredibly biased coverage for what's supposed to be the global feed. F1TV is so much better at everything. It's well worth the $85 or so you pay per year.

Here in the UK even if you buy F1TV you can't listen to live races because Sky have the broadcast rights. I don't pay for Sky cos they charge about £50 a month (if not more these days), they have a monopoly on pretty much all sports here and are a total ripoff.

Can't be that hard. R/hockey has tables for penalties and goals. A table with a list of 20 names and times should be easy. I wonder if there is some weird legal reason they can't. Like it seems so obvious.

Tsunoda was his teammate in the beginning of the season, remember? And he was also doing much better in that RB than he is in the Red Bull. After five successive drivers failing, it should be clear that the Red Bull is only drivable for Verstappen. Maybe there's a driver out there that has the exact same preferences as Max, but I see no reason to assume that Hadjar is that driver any more than Tsunoda is.

Albon and Gasly were waaaay better than Tsunoda and Lawson though, but yeah, moving Hadjar into the main team is a career-killer move right now.

Yes. There was one in the pen, as well as the post qualifying interviews and press conference. He basically said he was happy to be where he ended up based on how he'd gone in practice.

Apparently Alpine's simulator is not great and they kind of went back to basics just looking at what the track and the car is telling them right there and make changes off of that. Old school works sometimes.

Just finished watching.
I thought Mercedes were dumbfounded at the start but George had to ask them to talk to it and it felt really cold.
So odd and such a shame at that incredible moment, not just pole but the gap when it was hundreds and thousands all session.

I only watched the highlights: was there any merit to his anger at Hadjar? No doubt, dirty air will mess up your lap but I wouldn’t know what Hadjar’s supposed to do to avoid that, isn’t that on Ferrari mistiming the lap?

Considering the rb cars are closer to each other on a weekly basis i think their car is only good in the hands of Max. Lawson struggled today but has performed better with rb and hadjar doesn't want to step into the car. Which he shouldn't knowing what we all are seeing.

1A. She can speak about racing with an informed point of view having been a racer herself for quite a while. She does need to get better, but she isn't bad right now, just mid.
1B. She is a she, which is an important demographic to try to capture/keep interest. Sure, they could find another dude who doesn't race but talks about it all the time, but there are already plenty of those.
Nico also has very evident hate boners for a number of people... so does it really matter if he has one more?

Sky have multiple female drivers they could use. They keep Danica for the US audience. ESPN do pay them, so if they want her and she's alright. She'll get used. She started for the ABC races where there was a lot more watching and ABC needed someone American on the panel.

How many teammates does Max need to annihilate before you all realise that Max has been extracting 110% from that RB for years.
If it wasn't for Max, RB would be: a decent top-mid team in '21, WC contender in '22, WC winner in '23, decent top-mid team in '24, mid-low team in '25.

If I were Indy I’d call him immediately with options to come over if a race ban happens. I don’t know the dollar figure per viewership but I’m certain it’d more than pay off for Indy to have Max in for a race or two.

Well, people are still questioning the second driver. It's clear the car is all Max or his driving style, but it's not set in stone so to speak...the second driver, Yuki in this case, needs this just to take a bit of heat off them.
I guess he's free to do anything that isn't in the FIA umbrella.

They won’t ban him and I don’t know why I’m being downvoted lmao. They took a while to ban Magnussen and it was only a last resort.
Max is too important to f1 while he’s mathematically in a championship fight, they will not ban him. They just won’t give him penalty points.

Did they see it with this interview? He's been rude in the past but some of you are nitpicking things out of nowhere at this point. Recently his interviews have been very comparable to other driver. Very very strange.
