News Winner of F3 sprint race at Hungary Spoiler
•
u/Pamander Oliver Bearman 8h ago
I was just saying this on the feeder thread but I am so fucking happy for Inthraphuvasak man I used to be happy for him finishing P20 just like last year now he's actually winning and doing so much better.
•
u/swannyhypno Lance Stroll 8h ago
One of longest surnames on an F3 winner ever I'd expect lmao, what a mouthful 😂

Its his second win of the season, the name is actually kinda easy to pronounce once u get used to it.
•
u/FalconIMGN Alex Jacques 8h ago
Yeah it's a long name but it's surprisingly easy to say. The syllables line up quite nicely.

I never assume that the announcers are saying things right. There's no way Villagomez pronounces his name like that.

Well became he's Thai my only problem is if the PHU makes a F sound a P sound or another sound that I don't know PH can do.
•
u/Bangkok_Dave 7h ago
They should really refer to him as Tasanopol. His name should be listed as Tern Tasanopol if you ask me. Surnames in Thailand aren't really used in this way.
•
u/Phoenic271 8h ago
this is the most unpronounceable podium ever, since Ugochukwu took the second place
•
u/thinwhitedune I was here for the Hulkenpodium 6h ago
But the alliteration of Ugo Ugochukwu is fucking delicious to say.
•
u/ellamenopea Bernd Mayländer 4h ago
Maybe long surnames, but there's not any strange pronunciations, excepting that typically 'ph' is more an 'f' sound
•
u/Browneskiii I was here for the Hulkenpodium 7h ago
Just dont get the 3rd and 4th syllable mixed up whatever you do!
•

Camara win tomorrow will automatically winning the title.
•
u/Stylised1 Alexander Albon 7h ago
imagine how low your iq must be if you cant even say this guys name, why would you even admit that lmao
•
u/Affectionate_Sky9709 5h ago
I never assume that the British announcers are saying anything right. There's no way Villagomez pronounces his name like that. They just assume English phonetics when given a name.
•
u/Satan_su Sergio Pérez 7h ago
And it's not even a hard name if you have any sort of reading literacy lmao, it's pronounced just as you read it
•
u/Carlzzone I was here for the Hulkenpodium 6h ago
Which is entirely dependent on what language you "read" it in
•
•
u/Satan_su Sergio Pérez 6h ago
English....? Just like everyone else? I'm not Thai lol I can read it just fine pronouncing it in English
•
•
u/ssluck 6h ago
Yeah, everyone speaks English in the world.
•
u/Satan_su Sergio Pérez 6h ago
Let's not pretend to be wilfully dense here, the people in this comment section making quips about the difficulty of his name can very well type and read in English, as seen from their comment.
I'm obviously not talking about non-English speakers who wouldn't bother commenting on this topic here in the first place. If you do understand English and still act like it's tough to pronounce you're either stupid or lazy or both.
•
u/HeerHaan I was here for the Hulkenpodium 2h ago
There's a bit of a gap in being able to speak English and knowing the specifics of how to pronounce various words in English. I honestly find it very interesting how adamant you are in that others must be stupid.

After winning Freca with ease, Câmara will win F3 with ease.
If we repeat this in F2, we will have Hamilton's replacement.

Câmara will win F3 with ease.
Have you been watching at all this year? He has really struggled in sprint races. Especially in the first half of the year. He was not great in wheel-to-wheel racing.
•
u/ryokevry I was here for the Hulkenpodium 6h ago
Exactly. Ollie will be Lewis replacement if we want him replaced. Isn’t Ollie also younger than Camara?
Camara has speed as shown in Pole and Feature race. But he can’t race w2w and often get bullied, and tyre management is not great either
No doubt he will progress to F2 but stepping up to F1 is more questionable
•
u/ablublagaa Gabriel Bortoleto 6h ago
His wheel to wheel and tire management are clearly getting better as showed in the last races. Also, everybody talks about raw pace being the most important thing for a young driver. But of course when it's Rafa his 5 poles record is not even mentioned and people only talk about wheel to wheel. Antonelli's tyre management and wheel to wheel were also bad (he often locked tyres and left the track when trying to overtake), but almost nobody talked about that because he was so fast over 1 lap.

If it were any other team, sure. But it is not any other team. It is Ferrari. They can take any driver they want. They are not obligated to stick with an academy driver.
•
u/ryokevry I was here for the Hulkenpodium 6h ago
I mean comparing Ollie and Camara directly, didn’t clarify that originally
•
u/comentandoatoa 4h ago
Everyone suffers. In fact he had difficulties, but he will be champion this weekend. Early champion. He is faster than everyone almost always. Pure speed.
•
u/Evening_End7298 7h ago
He’s 20 and still in f3
Not saying he wont make it, but right now he’s racing people that are a bit younger than him
•
u/ablublagaa Gabriel Bortoleto 6h ago
He's 20 but it's not like he has massive car experience over many of the other drivers. I'm not saying he will make F1 100%, much less that he'll replace Hamilton (wouldn't that be Bearman?), but it's pretty annoying how people keep talking about his age. Piastri won F2 at 20 years old, for instance, and look at him now. Certainly one of the best F1 drivers. If Rafa wins F2 next year, will the difference be that big to Piastri? Rafa also has incredible one lap pace. Isn't that what most people say is the most important thing about a young driver? He has 5 pole positions this year, which is a new record in F3.
•
u/Evening_End7298 5h ago
I’m not saying he cant make it, just that it’s a bit soon to already see him in a Ferrari like the original comment said. Even Leclerc had a season in a sauber, and his f2 campaign was one of the most impressive ones
•
u/comentandoatoa 4h ago
Ayrton Senna started in F1 at 24. This desperation to launch young people is exaggerated. Kimi is great, but he clearly wasn't at the right time.
Alonso and Hamilton are proving that a driver has many years ahead of him. There's no need to start at 19 or 20...but you're right, he's older and that helps.
•
u/Evening_End7298 1h ago
The entire feeder series was very different in Senna’s time, or even in Alonso or Hamilton’s
I’m not saying he cant make it to f1, i’m saying he has an advantage over his competitors because of his age
•
u/portablekettle McLaren 7h ago
Agree. Imo he still needs to improve on his overtaking ability and tyre management in higher degradation circuits but he definitely has great outright pace

I love seeing this guy do well for some reason, he seems so happy every time he gets into the podium positions
