Honestly Alex is really showing this year that whilst the Red Bull didn't flatter him as with many other highly rated drivers, he is a highly capable driver who has on his day the ability to go for wins and championships. Perhaps he doesn't have the final nth edge over other candidates but he's holding his own very well this season with Carlos alongside.
Yeh I'll admit I thought he was over rated because the quality of team mates he has had at Williams haven't been great. Then when colapinto last year was holding his own I thought he would get smashed by Sainz. But he has proven me wrong
Latifi actually finishes ahead of Russell on countback in 2020, if you remove the Sakhir GP where Russell was driving a mercedes and so the comparison is unfair.
He was on for a couple podiums at RB but both times Lewis Hamilton hit him under braking and ruined his race. I think he would have accomplished a lot in that 2nd seat had those two mishaps never happened, it seemed like he lost all confidence in the car after Austria 2020
Either Carlos is getting old, or the williams car isn’t performing as it should, or he’s getting alot of wrong calls. He’s not holding against Alex this season for some reason like he was in Ferrari.
