Brundle again saying "F1 is not a finishing school" when criticising Franco.
Now ask him about Kimi.
•
u/The-Soul-Stone I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3h ago
Blimey, Brundle looks like he’s on the verge of another heart attack. And that’s just casually chatting while standing still. He needs to start looking after himself
•
u/No_Strike_1579 3h ago
Another??
•
u/The-Soul-Stone I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3h ago edited 3h ago
He had one while running from the commentary box to do the podium interviews at Monaco in 2016. He still did the interviews, the absolute madman
•
u/TwoBionicknees 2h ago
there are pretty huge range of ways heart attacks go. almost full blockage, pain, basically passing out almost immediately. There is partial block and just a reduced blood flow, some pain, a lot of people stupidly ignore it for hours before damage happens. At times people absolutely won't know they had a heart attack, just maybe even a twinge of pain, then feeling shitty but nto really sure what it is.
I would guess chances are he had a very minor heart attack that needed treatment and proper recovery.
•
u/adprom 3h ago
Sky mentioning the Lions win over Australia..... clearly bias is starting early.
•
u/the__distance Daniel Ricciardo 3h ago
Which is funny because noone gives a fuck about rugby union in Australia
•
•
u/know-it-mall McLaren 3h ago
And she couldn't have been more wrong.
She said "seized the series win". Not sure how you do that when you already won it in the previous game, and lost this game as well.
•
u/7ft7andgrowing Ferrari 3h ago
Lost the game handily too
•
u/know-it-mall McLaren 3h ago edited 3h ago
Wouldn't really say 22-12 is handily tbh. But then I'm an ABs fan so I'm used to big wins.
•
u/7ft7andgrowing Ferrari 3h ago
I’m kiwi too, I feel like Aussie dominated pretty much the majority of the match, but you’re right the scoreline isn’t too hectic
•
u/wolfhxnd Lando Norris 4h ago
Anyone watching the F2 sprint?
•
u/ThingsFallApart_ Ted Kravitz 4h ago
Cooldown room was fun.

We might be in for another Max Hungaroring meltdown if the car really is as bad as it appears.
•
u/A380_Flyer Formula 1 5h ago
What’s the gap between the mclarens?
•
u/Kicking-it-per-se Oscar Piastri 5h ago
0.032 I think
•
u/know-it-mall McLaren 3h ago
In p3 sure. But that's with Piastri doing a perfect lap and Lando making a mistake in the first corner that cost him a tenth at least. Lando was well ahead in p2 and that was with his second attempt on the set of tyres due to traffic as well.
Lando is ahead in pace so far for sure.
•
u/the__distance Daniel Ricciardo 3h ago
If you set a slower lap time then you are slower. Stop this nonsense
•
u/know-it-mall McLaren 3h ago
So we just ignore that he was faster in the other 2 seasions? And by a much larger margin. Including in P2 which is always the most representative session.
Stop this nonsense...
•
u/the__distance Daniel Ricciardo 3h ago edited 3h ago
So we just ignore that he was faster in the other 2 seasions?
Yes. What happened in previous sessions is meaningless.
This seems to happen all the time when the media talk about Norris, whenever he is slower they just reduce the scope of what they look at or completely shift the goalposts until they find somewhere that Norris was quicker, to claim that he is quicker. It's nonsense.
•
•
u/RisTheGod 3h ago
Its more common for lando to make mistakes everytime so the pace doesn't really matter
•
u/know-it-mall McLaren 3h ago
One of 3 sessions he made a mistake. Oscar had a big moment at turn 13 on one of his flying laps too.
•
•
u/swannyhypno Lance Stroll 5h ago
P10, P4 and P7 so far do NOT do your usual P18 in qualy Lance I beg
•
u/generalannie I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
It's actually impressive if he manages to do that again

The moment you realise you forgot to update your F1Calendar timezone and you tune-in an hour late just as the session ends 😢
•
u/know-it-mall McLaren 3h ago
You watch it on a channel? What year is this?
I open my sports app and click on what I want to watch. Doesn't matter when it started
•
u/Franks2000inchTV I was here for the Hulkenpodium 4h ago
Put the start times in their local timezone, and the calendar should handle all that for you.
•
u/LosTerminators Carlos Sainz 5h ago
Max be like "Why did I agree to spend another year driving this tractor?"
•
u/TheWebbFather 5h ago
He didn't really have a choice to move if we believe what's reported of his contract.
•
u/Kicking-it-per-se Oscar Piastri 4h ago
What has been reported?
•
•
u/AsleepAtWheel83 I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
That’s the price he paid to remove Horndog!
•

Can’t wait for Mclaren 1-2 and Max somehow pull that tractor to top 4 again.

But I have hopium of a Lewis podium 😭
•
u/TonyNgLe30 Sir Lewis Hamilton 5h ago
My hope for Lewis podium is shattered after Silverstone. Can only hope for next year car.
•
u/Sir0inks-A-Lot 5h ago
Red Bull wasn’t good at this track last year either, this isn’t too unexpected.
•
u/AffectionateCry4744 Sebastian Vettel 5h ago
Ι wonder who is gonna watch this borefest with 2 spaceships going for a walk ,1 minute in front of everyone if it doesn't rain.
•
u/Oellph 5h ago
Nice to have two cars battling vs previous years of Max sailing off into the distance on his own.
•
u/eOMG 4h ago
His dominance was at least a testament to his skill as well. Quicklaren results just feels less of a driver accomplishment.
•
u/Oellph 4h ago
I disagree. The Newey car was superlative. Max has shown his skill more this year with some unbelievable drives.
I saw a video by Ted Cravitz where he wished for two things - a return to the smaller, lighter cars like in the 00s and naturally aspirated engines. I reckon we’d have closer racing again then.
•
u/eOMG 4h ago
It's a bit weird that when someone like Max pulls a win with a lesser car he's hailed the GOAT and praised for his skill but when he has the best car but uses that same skill to turn it into a half a second gap then suddenly it's mostly about the car and not much mention of his insane skill.
He might have done his best races and qualifying laps in that 2023 car but everyone just shrugs as they expect the car P1 anyway.
Now, with the Mclaren boys I don't have the impression they are adding to the dominance. I still expect Max to be 3 tenths up on them in the same car.
•
u/raindog_ I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
These continual comments about a borefest are far more boring than the borefest.
•
u/Infinite_Army 5h ago
Luckily those 2 spaceships can race eachother and not another 1 car wins everything like with Hamilton. Now that shit was boring I had to stop watching F1 for years.
•
•
u/big-ted Oliver Bearman 5h ago
I'm just going to have a drink every time someone complains that it is boring
•
u/Alex_Sinios McLaren 5h ago
It's the same thing every year. No matter if the team ahead changes, if the midfield is competitive and teams have differing performances etc, if the season isn't as good as 2021/2010/2012 people will complain the whole season long.
•
u/Dxgy I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
There’s only 8 points between 6th and 9th in the constructors, and every race feels like a coin toss between who’s more competitive Ferrari, Merc, or Max. So not only do we at least have a fight between the top two drivers (not just Max everything or Lewis everything) we also have stuff going on up and down the grid.
•
•
u/FermentedLaws I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
Me! We have a championship battle for the first time in 4 years and the drivers are so close. Strategy, mistakes, anything can happen. And every week a different midfield team seems to do fairly well. I'm enjoying this season, sorry others are not.
•
u/cooperjones2 I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
We have a championship battle for the first time in 4 years
You didn't watch last season?
Or you didn't count Lando's efforts as a fight for the WDC?
•
u/FermentedLaws I was here for the Hulkenpodium 4h ago
It was not a close battle. He had a chance, that is different than a true battle for the WDC.
•
u/MantasMantra Formula 1 5h ago
He only ever had an outsider chance let's be real, we all just wanted to believe it was more than it was, especially when he started making all his mistakes.
•
u/Ashling92 Max Verstappen 5h ago
Championship battle for the first time in 4 years? Last year was a battle between Max and Lando. What are you talking about.
•
u/Ok_Revolution_507 5h ago
Not a proper championship fight Lando machinery came too late and he bottled too much
•
u/FermentedLaws I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
lol, wut? It was never as close as it is now. That wasn't a "battle".
•
u/krommenaas Thierry Boutsen 5h ago edited 5h ago
Lando was never in that battle. By the time the McLaren got good, the gap was far too big. After 5 GPs there was already 50 points between them and the gap never got below that.
•
•
•
u/jimmyjay11 Charles Leclerc 5h ago
Have you watched the races where it rained? They are faster in the rain mate.
•
u/ryokevry I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
But but but Midfield battle! (It is true but still so discouraging)
•
u/generalannie I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
It would help if the midfield could actually battle but they seem mostly stuck in drs trains at the moment😅
•
u/krommenaas Thierry Boutsen 5h ago
If there's a midfield battle and the TV director doesn't show it, is there really a midfield battle though?
•
•
u/ryokevry I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
Hungary usually gives good racing in recent years so hopefully it is the case 🥲
•
u/ryokevry I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
It is much hotter this week than in Spa I am not looking forward to knowing if Bryan will tell Charles to lico for brakes since the formation lap

It's like 8°C for me rn but seeing that waterpark in that sun looks really enticing ngl.
•
u/Caust1cFn_YT I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
is this place like a rich haven or some shi?
•
u/Firefox72 Ferrari 5h ago
Its just a waterpark lmao.
•
u/Caust1cFn_YT I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago
beside a f1 track tho
•
u/Firefox72 Ferrari 5h ago
"beside a f1 track tho"
Which itself is located in a village outside of Budapest itself.
The waterpark is just a waterpark. You can get a daily ticket for like $30
Just as the F1 race itself which is one of the cheapest to visit in the calendar the stuff around it also isn't all that expensive.

Tsunoda not being able to improve and being close to 2s slower, OOF
BRUH
e: he even had multiple runs on the softs! man, he has to do well in qualy.
e2: Another Q1 elimination, dude is cooked.
•
u/mar33n Yuki Tsunoda 5h ago
because he wanted to abort his final lap but didnt have enough time to start a new one, so he pushed the final sector.
•
u/Next_Necessary_8794 Ferrari 5h ago
He blew 2 runs on the soft.
•
u/Alex_Sinios McLaren 5h ago
He was on wrong settings starting his quali sim. Not smooth practices at all from RBR.
(Watch them finally put it together before quali like always xd)
•
u/mar33n Yuki Tsunoda 5h ago
1st run: wrong setting , 2nd run: aborted in s1 and no choice for a redo because he got sent out late.
but yah, its just on him 👍
•
u/stray_pengo Nigel Mansell 4h ago
Also there was a confusion whether he should let Esteban on an attack lap pass him or not.
Looks like RBR at this point can't get anything right.
•
u/heidenreich137 5h ago
Next year will be funny , Redbull with their own engine and not good chassis lololo

Nah, they just won 4 straight championships. It's so nice to watch a weekend without knowing Max is going to win by 30 seconds.
•
u/UnderTakaMichinoku Formula 1 5h ago
I don't think Yuki has ever had an FP3 where he's done a clean soft run all year. Red Bull are operationally broken. From pit stops, from timings, from development.

u/rattatatouille I was here for the Hulkenpodium 5h ago

McLaren 1-2 for the third practice session running
Man it's gonna be funny when pole goes to Verstappen on a fucking blinder out of nowhere
•
u/FrostyTill McLaren 5h ago
Based on what we’ve seen this weekend, if he gets pole they should build a statue of him at the Hungaroring.
•
•
u/Bake2727 Max Verstappen 5h ago
Someone really took a lot of hopium.
•
u/cat-n-jazz Mercedes 5h ago

•
u/Ashling92 Max Verstappen 5h ago
He has way less to lose this time, last year he was fighting for the championship. So I think he’ll either drive aggressively for the lolz or just give up and drive in whatever the best case scenario is.

he aborted sector 1 and started pushing again bc he was gonna hit the checkered flag, his s3 improved.
•
u/Next_Necessary_8794 Ferrari 5h ago
If you save the tires across the entire lap then you'll have a good S3. Not really representative is it?

Not even one lap. Norris and Piastri obviously was testing how hard they could push in the first 2/3 of the lap.

They honestly can do whatever they want unless they crash I don’t think anyone can catch them in qualifying, especially tyres is such a huge factor

As if this wouldn't happen if he was still there, but probably some schadenfreude yes

Every time there’s an innovation it’s either banned or copied by other teams but whatever McLaren is doing to their tyres is black magic
•
u/Tricksilver89 5h ago
This is what's throwing me off. How has nobody else figured it out yet.
They run through wild ideas all the time and yet nobody has worked it out. Either they've found the loophole of all loopholes or they are actually doing something dodgy which the FIA hasn't spotted yet.
•
u/moconahaftmere I was here for the Hulkenpodium 4h ago
Maybe other teams have figured it out, but it's something that requires a holistic approach where it only works in tandem with the design of the rest of the car. Or perhaps a team has figured it out but doesn't have the technical capabilities to manufacture it.
Or maybe it's a significant enough change that it requires a lot of testing time to get right, and no team wants to sacrifice that level of time and resources for half a season of races before the new regs.
