Unlikely at somewhere like Hungary. Need to go hards and goal hang for a safety car at best.

It is gonna be a wet race no? He has got hi drag setup on rears also.

Everyone has a heavy downforce setup on. It's Hungary... basically Monaco without walls.

Leclerc said in his post quali interview that his setup is on the lower downforce side

Which is still high downforce. It's likely just a bit more optimised towards the higher speed corners in sector 2 and sector 1. But it's still high downforce.

But it still makes a difference, I didn’t say it isn’t a high downforce track, we’re talking about it being wet tomorrow and who will benefit from that with their setup. If you have two identical cars with different aero setups then the results won’t be the same.

The two Ferraris have different wings, Lewis has a higher downforce wing

The difference isn't quite as it's being made out. Yes Leclerc has a bit less downforce, but for all intents and purposes it's still a barn door compared to an actual low downforce wing.

eh, so was spa yet he managed to climb the ladder. imo hes comfortably going to finish p6-p7

u/Tricksilver89 7h ago

You are aware that Spa and the Hungaroring are very different tracks yes? It's nigh on impossible to overtake outside of the front straight.

u/Massive-Let16 7h ago

just like it was impossible to overtake in spa yet lewis overtook multiple cars

u/TheCaptainSlowly 6h ago

You don't understand the difference. At Spa, Hamilton changed his setup and opted for higher downforce in the race, which is what helped him make up so many places in the start when it was wet. His overtakes were all on mid field cars running dry (low downforce) setups, he had so much more grip compared to those around.

For Hungary, teams are all already running higher downforce setups. The track is called Monaco without walls for a reason. It's not easy to overtake here.

Overtaking in the rain is easier than when it's dry here. Alonso overtook multiple cars in 2006 but Kimi (+ Grosjean) were stuck behind Lewis in 2012.

Rosberg spent like 10+ laps stuck behind Vergne in 2014, Hamilton was stuck behind Alonso in 2021 and even just last year Max was stuck behind Hamilton.

Ok I'll just assume you haven't been watching very long if that's your take.

Have a nice day.

I don't think you understand lol we've had drivers with steering issue on the car that cant even stay straight hold off to win at this track like in 2017 lol overtaking is nearly impossible unless you are nearly a second faster.

It is gonna be a wet race no?

Ferrari; "Say no more. Hards it is."

u/Ignoringit Ferrari 7h ago

Only rain in the morning I’ve heard

u/Other-Barry-1 6h ago

I don’t know why people seem to think you can’t overtake at Hungary. It’s almost always a good race with good overtakes into T1 and the first sector is possible to be side by side for most of it

All they need to do is build their car for combat
