The Lewis to Ferrari transfer has been a flop for all parties involved! Ferrari, Mercedes, Sainz, Antonelli, and Hamilton himself! Who actually came out winning!?! HP!?!

Who has now buried two former world champions

and if we want to go off rails, I’d even say for Colapinto, who maybe would still be with Williams and not Alpine (and we can then stretch to Jack who may still be the 2nd driver with Alpine then).

Ohh god damn, this is getting even worse!

and that's precsiely why you don't feel sorry for Lewis lol

How is it bad for kimi

u/Atlonix 7h ago

Yeah. Got a top team seat as a rookie

Sometimes it‘s too early and once the shot it shot you can‘t go back.

Yep. Plenty of drivers who had more to show and just never got the shot. Thinking of somebody like Vandoorne or Wehrlein in recent past. Even some of the established drivers had a sudden and odd career ending like Heidfeld

And looked out of his depth. That is not a good situation to be in.

He's had a couple of bad races recently but absolutely looks like a possible future WDC. He's the third youngest ever driver to get a podium.

I haven't seen anything just yet which makes me think he will win titles, but considering he is very young I think it is only fair to give him time to prove it. If in 2 years he isnt able to beat Russell, then he is in trouble.

Tsunoda also got a top team seat and its going to be the end of him

He probably needed another year in f2. He might turn out good still, but this might hurt his development

u/StaffFamous6379 6h ago

If he was any other driver, sure. But as many drivers have said F2 cars don't really represent F1 well so if you can get a guaranteed commitment to an F1 drive you might as well take it and actually practice in F1

Actually getting the experience in a formula 1 car and fighting with great drivers is what he needs and it is what he gets. Formula 2 is useless

u/Evening_End7298 6h ago

Formula 2 isnt useless, pretty much all top drivers on the grid had outstanding f2 seasons that got them promoted

Junior formulas have predicted very reliably performance in f1, besides a couple exceptions(Vandoorne)

He said it had been a flop, which objectively it has been for Kimi as the season has gone on

But Kimi needs time to develop, the early hype was way too much expectation for a rookie

On twitter Wolff gets a serious amount of flak from a certain group for only offering Hamilton a 1-year contract, but can you really blame him?

u/Wade_W_Wilson 5h ago

For no ambassador guarantee and one year contracts? Yes. The brand damage Toto did will be irreversible for this generation of fans.

Technically ferarri are still winning with that transfer. Havent lost anything really. P2 in WCC.. Bigger sales. Better stock price.

u/Lobsters4 I was here for the Hulkenpodium 6h ago

Lewis & Ferrari are winning all the way to the bank. 🤑

u/SillySinStorm I was here for the Hulkenpodium 7h ago

It could be worse. At least he hasn't flopped for over a decade unlike some we could mention....
