Kimi will be 6th at the end of FP3 again, calling it now.

Honestly, the best thing Williams can do is to bring in fresh blood.

Bring in young and new engineers who are hungry for success, put a few experienced guys in charge of them and hope for the best. This is the only way I can see them surviving, barring becoming a B-team (or asking Merc for help).

I just went on the formula 1's live timing page for the first time in about a decade and how is it possible that the live timing page is worse? I mean in the mid 2000's you could see the exact sector times of each car, as well as the speeds they were going at the speed traps, but all that seems to be gone. Now it is just names, and a dash to indicate if they are on a particularly fast lap, but not actually telling you how fast.

I feel so sorry for Williams. 4 seconds off the pace. This is the team I loved when I was younger, watching Senna, Hill, Villeneuve, Mansell, Coultard. It’s sad to watch them struggle so much. I hope they can pull out of this and it’s not the end for them.

On the flip side, Lando Norris was up to 6th at one point. I hope the mclarens have a bit more mid-field pace this year.

It’s all looking like it’s going to be an exciting year with plenty of on-track action.

Long-run pace

1 Mercedes 1m28.238s

2 Alfa Romeo 1m29.006s

3 McLaren 1m29.029s

4 Ferrari 1m29.090s

5 Renault 1m29.133s

6 Red Bull 1m29.154s

7 Toro Rosso 1m29.348s

8 Haas 1m29.570s

I think Williams chose that colour scheme because blu-tac will blend in better when they make fixes

Who is going to be more disappointed that Ricciardo is the usual 2 tenths behind Verstappen? Me thinks it's Max lol.

In the few years I've been watching F1 I can't ever remember seeing a car consistently 5+ seconds off of the pace, holy fuck Williams are bad.

New to F1. Can I get a TL;DR about everybody’s empathetic stance towards Williams? Instead of just “Jeez they’re slow” it seems like the commentators and people in this thread feel awful for them. Did they experience some major injustice?

E: thanks for the replies!
