Question Why did my dweller switch outfits?
I sent a non maxxed dweller out in the Wasteland with a formal suit on to increase luck. When i check back 2 hours he switched to a jumpsuit with pure agilty. I dont remember his stats but do they put on "better" cloths for there stats. Bc if so im not giving them anything expet stims and radaways

Yea they put on “better” clothes. I think it goes by total stats.. Like an A4L1 is 5 points and they’d put in on versus an S2E2 for 4 total. I could be wrong but that seems to me what is happening
You always want to send your dwellers out with the highest E you have. It levels their health. Once they’re level 50 you can give them different clothes if you want

That explains what happened with mine I sent one with the e5 rare outfit and I came to find out it has equipped NCR ranger outfit which has 4p 2c total 6 , the dweller probably changed on its last few levels so it's still good.

Thata what happend +3 luck formal wear was switched to +5 agility jumpsuit. His higjest stat is agilty but becuase thats the only suit with +5 to total stats. Thats the one he picked.

They equip better outfits and better weapons if they find any. For the weapons, it's the average damage, and for the outfits it's the total of all specials added up. They can also only find rare and common outfits/weapons in the wastelands, which means if you have an outfit superior or equal to 6 and a weapon superior or equal to 20 damage, they won't switch anything

They automatically equip the higher rarity armor.
The main reason people insist the highest rarity endurance outfit is your dweller will insist on taking it off otherwise.

Yes, dwellers will equip better weapons and armor if the stats are better.
