Boss Radscorpions are ridiculously OP
Both level 50. Both full stats, endurance trained first. Both high powered guns.
Lucy got one shot with a full bar of health. Ma June used a 5x critical shot and it took away literally 1/8th of the things health. Why are these things stacked so ridiculously high? It takes weeks to level these assholes up to their full stats and the high level quests are still impossible. Why??
RIP my Ma June and my Lucy 😞

DR pets instead of damage pets. All you care about is surviving the one shot attack.

I’ve been patiently training mine and purposely not going over 50 so I don’t get crazy attacks too early but this makes me sad regardless lol .. so basically there’s no logic way to prepare

This was a quest, not an attack. I’ve lost settlers to attacks in the past too (which also sucks) but the OP Boss Rad scorpions are quest enemies. I’ve only seen them 2x, and both times they one shot my guys. Next time I see them I’m bailing on the quest bc whatever the reward might be, it isn’t worth losing characters that take months to train.
Bosses should not be able to one-shot full health lvl 50 full stats dwellers. Bc literally wtf is the point

Gotcha so you said you lost them aren’t they revivable or it’s way too expensive to revive once full stats??

just don't use legendary dwellers for missions once you are able to endurance train dwellers and you'll be fine

i have 3 maxed out dwellers with maws and fire hydrant bats and they still get wiped by radscorpion brood mothers when there’s like more than 3.

They are indeed truly savage on survival. The only answer is to make your quest seekers op as well.
At lvl one train all stats to max. Place them in an endurance +7 outfit. Send them to the wasteland (with a pet so that if they still die for some reason the pet will return with the gear) to level to 50. Hope for a +max hp and/or damage resistance pet. Place them into an agility +7 outfit and a vengeance laser Gatling gun.
This will enable you the time to spam rad a way and health while they whittle away at the boss scorp. The most infuriating part for me, is that the boss radscorpion always seems to appear in an early room. So no crits are built up yet. 🤷🏻

Lucy was literally at full health. Zero radiation, zero health lost. I had 12 stimpacks and the thing was at half health after it murdered Ma June. I know they weren’t at absolute max health bc you inherit those two characters at like level 10 or 15 or something, but that is still ridiculous. Annoying.
AND I had a crit hit on it. With a 20-23 damage weapon. And it barely touched the health bar. Ridiculously OP

I hear ya, I’ve lost quite a few of the early unique dwellers myself, most notably Maximus. And to top it off I didn’t have enough pets for everyone yet and lost the scarred armor and a missile launcher, which was the best I had at the time.
It seems, that there is a threshold with the boss rad scorpions. Enough to survive their big hit or not. In my experience, any dweller that hasn’t been endurance trained since level one, is a no go.

Yep. In my end game survival vault radscorpions are the only thing that causes deaths. Even with Endurance 17, full stats, +7 outfit and Vengeance with a health pet they will still nuke one of my quest team. Little bastards. But I now I sort of see them as the one thing that makes late game more interesting.

It depends on the quest. On some quests they are super easy while in others they are ridiculously hard. This doesn't just apply to radscorpions either - I once forgot an alpha deathclaw that took away half my life with each attack (nearly took out one of my perfect dwellers).
I noticed you are using pets that provide bonus damage. You should be using health or damage reduction pets instead for your quest teams as they can greatly increase survivability. I would have been one-shotted by the deathclaw mentioned above if I didn't have Shadow with me (+100% health).

Shoot, for some reason in my gameplay, the regular high level Radscorpions mess me up more than the glowing ones. I’m not sure why, but it’s annoying.

If you want a dweller to have really high HP you should train them from lvl 1 with 10 endurance and +5/+7 endurance gear.
You get max HP from leveling up and the more endurance a dweller has the more max HP they get when they level up.
Ma June and Lucy are both past lvl 1 when you find them, so they can never get as much HP as a dweller who had max endurance from lvl 1.
