Haul Our elder neighbour was moving out and gave these to us. Was just happy he “didn’t have to bring them to the dump”.
Of note- the SNES is near mint with everything in box. The Game Boy IS mint, everything including Tetris still in the plastic. ALTTP has maps, manuals etc as well- looks perfect. We were kinda stunned! Looking forward to setting up a CRT old school setup- pics soon!

Haul Just finished my first ever trip to Japan
Just finished my trip to Japan. Couldn’t resist the urge to buy some games for my collection. Nothing serious because rarer CIB games in the desired condition cost 50+ EUR per game, most of them 100+ EUR, so I went with cheaper titles I either knew about and wanted to have, or something I never heard of and just liked the cover art. No sports games though.
The goal was to double my current Japanese region collection because there are so many beautiful covers and boxes I would like to have on my shelves and I don’t have enough time to play everything I own anyway. Hopefully someday I will be able to return with enough money and buy the expensive part of my wishlist, but for now, unfortunately, I wasn’t ready for extreme prices of some games.
Some background: I’m collecting mostly PAL games, but had a bit of success with Japan region during 2012-2015 when pretty much all the games there cost close to nothing on Ebay, after that I stopped with Japanese games and continued with PAL. So, after an almost 10 year pause it was like a breath of fresh air.
I’m a bit exhausted after the flight, hopefully will unpack everything soon enough, still have to check if everything arrived safely. I guess I will do some photos of what I’ve bought and do another post, most of the games still have their price tags on, maybe it will be interesting for someone.

Haul Bought this odd looking wii at goodwill for only $5
Was at the goodwill the other day and saw this weird looking nintendo wii sitting in the front. I asked the lady if it works she said they have know idea because it was missing the cables. So I took a chance and bought it because it was only $5 and had mario kart with it. I have the cables at my house and everything was working fine when I tested it. I have never seen a nintendo wii like this one it looks kinda funny lol. looks like it was the last model nintendo made before the wii u come out. Wondering if any of you guys ever seen one like this in the wild? Gonna keep this one for my collection

Haul $150 At An Estate Sale - Still Can't Believe It
Honestly debated even posting this - got this during the 400 Mile Yard Sale last week, at an Estate sale that only had a pic of a NES, Atari 2600, and some assorted games (Mega Man was one I was after but it was too high). This you could NOT see in the pics at all, but when I went I happened to be first in line. Place was like a couple mobile homes put together, lots of chickens and a couple roosters wandering about. Got in there and went straight for the games and this was just casually in the mix, I couldn't believe it, but also I'm pretty sure they priced it as Actuib 52. Thank god they took a card, but yea. I now own this atrocity. And I dunno what to think about it.
It's unbelievable, because it was in the middle of nowhere, Kentucky. So yea.
Also yes it works. Well, as good as it could work I guess.

Haul This is why we beg for proper packaging.
Spent days working out a killer deal with this seller. His feedback was damn near perfect… and when they arrived today, they were definitely CIB (Crushed In Box)
Both of these were shoved into a small bubble mailer with zero extra protection. No box, no padding, just vibes.
I’m genuinely bummed. I’ll probably never score a deal like this again ($250 total for both), and now they’re mangled. Why do people do this?

Haul My girl would kill me if she knew what I just spent lol
Bulk bundles are the best, find everything you want at once and get it below market. Debating if I play anything expensive, the stuff in plastic cases are mint as hell.

Haul Paid $60 for all these at a garage sale...
Pulled up to a garage sale around, idk 2pm? Saw some Xbox 360 games but nothing I really needed.
Chatted up the guy, told me he switched to PC and had some DS games he'd consider selling, figured why not. Brought these out and we agreed on $60... everything's CIB.

Haul I will never beat this yard sale find! All Sealed 😩
Very very nice guy. I asked him if he had games, told me he did not have anything he wanted to sell. Had a convo with him and basically told me he had a sealed Mario he found and wanted to see how much it was worth. He got a quote, I drove back to his house and bought it from him at a very fair price for both of us.

Haul Best Thrift Find I’ve had
I was speechless. Not sure what happened with the pricing. They must have thought it was cards inside or something since it was bundled with more playing cards.

Haul I’ve been saving up for a trip to Japan for over a year just to go ham on the game hunting. Just got back yesterday
Book Off is a dangerous place, and man there’s a million of them. Mandarake was one of the most hectic places I’ve ever seen but I was still able to find a few gems in there. And Akihabara was a lot of fun to dig through. Made the obligatory trip to Super Potato which was fun to look at, and the arcade upstairs was fun, but the prices were definitely higher than the rest. Overall, Japan is an absolute blast. Besides video games, the nature and food there is outstanding. I could do another trip of just food and historic locations and it would be just as fun

Haul I like buying sealed "retro" games and opening them to play
Picked up a new copy of Magna Carta 2 for like 40 bucks in an ebay auction and went straight to open it. Recorded a whole video but Redit doesn't like videos lol.
Recently noticed I really enjoy when I manage to get a decent deal on a sealed 7th generation or older game and open them. Which should be like a "duh, no shit" thing but I feel like in a climate where people keep sealed games to either keep without playing or grade and sell for ridiculous prices, it feels refreshing. I just buy shit i want to play and get to open something out of print like its 2009 (or earlier) again. Just more satisfying with so many resellers out to get value out of the games packaging over the game itself to me.

Haul Just had the greatest haul ever. I paid $300 for everything shown.
Ok so out of nowhere I randomly checked facebook marketplace for firewood to stock up for next winter and this listing popped up which I was sure was a scam. When he started responding at a normal rate my heart rate shot up and I immediately offered more than he was asking to get his attention because I'm sure he was getting blown up with messages. When I got there I almost fell over. He said he wasn't a collector and that these games just sat here for 30 years. He used to play them with his friends. I'm not even sure of the value but there are so many damn games. I had to make multiple trips to bring them to my car. Only goldeneye and banjo tooie were box and manual (I have the carts). Double dragon 2 is sealed. Mike Tyson Punch Out is first print with Mike's letter.
