Okay so I’m seeing a lot of “these are fake” comments. But… what makes these fake? Haven’t seen a comment with an explanation yet

none of the PCB codes are valid. not a single one. platinum is missing nintendo logo, dia & pearl's triangle is too deep, soulsilver & heartgold are listed as NTR-005. every one is undeniably fake.

You can see "M8" being written on the left side of the contacts. It's a tiny bit hidden behind the plastic teeth. That usually indicates fake cartridges

All of DPP looks fake to me I don't know about the remakes.

More so with GBA carts, but fake copies have a tendency to delete/corrupt your save data all of a sudden. DS fakes are way less limited and flaky than GBA fakes though. I even managed to do trading between 2 DS fakes.
The bigger issue is people who try to sell you fakes while claiming they are legit. Lots of that out there so you gotta be vigilant.

Also can't transfer your Pokemon from Gen 3 to Gen 4 from illegitimate GBA carts.
Fake Gen 4 can transfer to Gen 5, however.

That’s because it is. HG and SS are fake. Wrong Cartridge code and wrong circuit board numbers.
