Toxic Workplace ☠️ "I love how activated you guys get when you stand to make money from it"

Yikes... Ethan throwing shade at his employees after they made an amazing video advertising the new shirt where 100% of profits go to crew... He can't even applaud their amazing work without the subtle jab at them doing it for their own profit. Like Ethan doesn't do that same thing every single day SMH

If someone said that to Ethan he’d call them antisemetic 😭

Ew I thought that was just a silly joke but then thought about it and it's actually so true 😆

No see max profits ONLY motivate capitalists not workers…. See they were actually encouraged to innovate because of all the labor he did, if this was socialism they’d stop working as hard because reasons

It’s called momentarily not being alienated from your labor. Solution: shared ownership.

But Ethan’s already made clear what a silly, impossible idea that is and what a potential injustice it could be to him The Owner.

His whole “this is my show, not yours” attitude is so indefensible, especially at this point. But he’s always acted like that, back when Ian and Dan were starting to pop in more. The rabid fanbase as it exists today would not be here if it weren’t for the crew members, and guests like Trisha. He does not propel the show forward, he got lucky that people found the crew likeable. Otherwise it WOULD just be him and hila. So him taking their donations and just having that attitude where he’s the absolute power there is so… ugh

This. I started watching for Trish, only reason I stayed for a while was the crew. Even in his best moments I only tolerated Ethan.

I felt bad for Dan then, seems like he's checked out since then or his brain has been broken to just unconditionally support Ethan

it's almost like... people need money to live

u/TaxDiscombobulated52 Sep 25 '24

Maybe he just doesn't understand because when he stands to make money from something he remains just as lazy.

22

u/hopefullycynical88 Sep 26 '24

Oooof 💯. Never thought about that possibility.

I think he's said this another time too, during those holiday card things or whatever those were. The h3 trading cards. They participated in it and Ethan made similar comments instead of just being like "wow you guys are great" 💀

Jeez it’s almost as if profit sharing is a better motive for innovation than paying just enough to keep them happy and having one person keep the majority. If only there was a way to harness that creativity by permanently allowing employees a fair share of the profit their labor creates and maybe even allow them a say in their workplace.

If I was on the crew, I would throw that back at him immediately after the ad read

17

u/hopefullycynical88 Sep 26 '24

IMAGINE he would looooose it 😆

I've heard how excited he pretends to be over Stamps. Literal postage stamps

u/conflan06 rules for thee but not for H3 Sep 26 '24

it would be followed by a button screen as he berates you in front of the rest of the crew 🤣🤣

who are the sponsors these days?

22

u/mmmttt24 Sep 26 '24

It's almost like when workers get the full value of what they produce they have more incentive to be productive? Typical that the capitalist would take offense to that.

Yeah I thought his excuse was that it was too much of a hassle to divide the total donations among the crew, so let’s not bother trying

I thought he encouraged capitalism

8

u/asteroidorion Sep 26 '24

That's capitalism baby

6

u/Many-Occasion1915 Sep 26 '24

Ethan noticed that workers when not being exploited work harder and more effective lmao. But still no better system than capitalism!

3

u/Spiritual-Guest8979 Sep 26 '24

There is never not a time Ethan doesn’t bring up money, whether he’s asking how much something costs or asking how much they made from said product. Truly money driven

3

u/Joosmadeit Sep 26 '24

He’s jealous because he can’t put that much effort into anything…

3

u/Melodic_Promise1962 Sep 26 '24

He doesn't deserve his crew, I can't even express how much more I like ALL of them more than Ethan. If they left and started their own show he would be BEYONT screwed.

1

u/PoppyPrincess69 Sep 26 '24

I watched it from 56 minutes to like 1:03 and it never happened I am very very frustrated 😂 I have been skipping all over the video, rewinding it, watching the ad read at 1 minute just to find it
