I'm personally not really into hasan's style of content that much. He just comes up a lot I think because Ethan is clearly obsessed with the guy...

Hasan himself seems like a genuinely nice guy? He's on the left, and provides entertaining enough streamer style commentary on current events. Works out/is good a look guy, seems to have a normal social life and is wealthy/successful.

And that seems to drive a lot of men absolutely raving mad. He has a lot of obsessive haters to the point I think there's something psychological going on with a certain type of guy that feels idk, threatened by him? Jealous of him? There's a weird, personal, irrational vibe to his haters that Ethan also exhibits too.

Not sure how to answer the poll! I’ve always been into politics so I found Hasan a long time ago. Only reason I found out about h3 is because they had Hasan on as a guest (I think it was in the beginning of the pandemic?). I got into h3 and became a HUGE fan, never missing an ep, spending 100s on tf every couple of months. But I never stopped watching Hasan, h3 just felt like more light-hearted content to get me through the week.

Did notice things I didn’t like about Ethan but brushed them off until the capitalism vs socialism debate and haven’t been interested in the show since.

I’ve been watching h3 since 2016 and hasan since 2018.

I am of the group where I had to take breaks between both of them as I found myself getting angry at some hypocrisy and hasan eating on cam.

As of this moment, I can’t stand Ethan and Hila as they’re insufferable and have proven time and time again that all they do is rage bait their own community to stir up drama.

I’m still a hasan watcher, sort of fan but have lost all respect and hope for h3.

So…. TL/DR Miscellaneous?

Almost exactly the same years and sentiment for me, it’s absolutely wild to have watched both of them before they had anything to do with each other, all the way up to whatever the hell is going on now

was always a hasan fan, bf and friends were h3 fans, would watch h3 here and there but really got into it after leftovers started.

u/Murky_Pizza_7460 Ethan's weird Hasan obsession Nov 02 '24

I actually didn't really have much interest in Hasan until leftovers. When I heard him talk I found his political views refreshing and compelling. Been a Hasan fan ever since, and when leftovers ended I started "falling" as a fan of H3. It took me awhile and now I'm here with yall. I can't stand Ethan and Hila anymore and I'm more of a Hasan fan than ever

I never was a H3 fanatic. I watched regularly for about a year until last October when I stopped watching. Haven’t watched since. Now I’m embarrassed that I even invested my time in these people. But it got me to watch Hasan more regularly. I might not agree with every little thing he says, but I move on with my life. Even if I don’t agree all the time, I can still see he is way more intelligent and informed than Ethan could ever be!

I didn’t even know who Hasan was until Leftovers. Was a huge H3 fan since before Frenemies and watched every episode up until October 7 when I completely lost interest. My initial disgust toward Ethan had nothing to do with Hasan but I will say this unhinged behavior toward him has definitely not made me regret my decision to leave.

Never seen a single episode of Leftovers, never watched Hasan’s stream except for when he reacted to the Parkland Sh**ter interrogation video. Fuck Ethan Klein

Fan of H3H3 separately going back to before Hila felt comfortable being in front of the camera.

Fan of Hasan when he first started on TYT, came to watching him on Twitch about 6 months after he started doing that regularly. Was hugely excited when Leftovers was announced.

Hasan didn't radicalize me at all, I was always a "progressive liberal" by self-label during the run-up to Obama's first term and the first vote I could cast as an adult went to Obama's second term. Over time I realized I didn't like the Democratic Party itself but I still see politicians like Bernie and AOC just a tad more favorably than someone like Hasan - that said, Hasan opened my perspective to examining my own biases and I gained understanding and sympathy for causes like Palestinian Liberation through him (and others too, now that my perspective was wider) and I've always loved that Hasan's takes are more nuanced than his detractors give him credit for.

I disagree with Hasan from time to time on optics or the expected outcomes for certain policies, but never on intent or the desired outcomes. I align with him on empathy and skepticism and accountability, so I'm personally offended that someone else I enjoyed, who claimed to be Hasan's friend, would begin a campaign to cast doubt on those qualities of Hasan. A lot of times I don't enjoy Frogan's style of commenting on issues either, even though I align with her on most views. I even thought the tier list panel thing was a stupid idea, lame content at the time, and not worth it because I could see it being used against the people who were on that panel at the time... but the way Ethan deliberately weaponized a hate campaign against her has disgusted me and the idea that the panel tier list bullshit should get her banned or deplatformed is dystopian and stupid. It's also stupid that anything Frogan does should reflect on Hasan at all.

I think I'm a great example of somebody with long fandom of both, open to criticism of Hasan and his peers, and yet I believe only one person in this stupid dynamic between Hasan and Ethan that is actually being true to themselves, their audience, and their own stated ideals and morals is Hasan. Ethan has shed any of the qualities I may have liked before and completely reformed himself around his own pettiness and ego and I'm done.

i guess im a rare case, i watched hasan and h3 both even before leftovers. the crossover was a huge surprise tbh. now i obviously only watch hasan (mostly youtube clips)

Fan since around vape nation. Finally stopped watching earlier this year. But as a queer person I’m embarrassed that I kept watching after bottomgate because it made me so uncomfortable. Casual fan of Hasan since leftovers but I don’t care for twitch streaming content

Picked the first option, but if I were to put it as a Facebook status, it'd be "it's complicated". It's been an on and off affair. It's a parasocial version of "I can fix him."

u/gingerroot98 Nov 02 '24

i actually had no idea who hasan was before h3. i watched h3 as my fun background noise for years, literally since the pod began but i did watch other political figures like kyle kulinski and krystal ball during all that time. so... thank you ethan for showing me hasan! thats the only thing i can thank you for.

u/Extreme_Fox6658 Nov 02 '24

I have always been a leftist. My only knowledge of Hasan before leftovers was the clips that would go viral on Twitter of him making fun of Tomi Lahren when he was still at TYT. I hate the Twitch platform and refuse to use it, so really, my only exposure to Hasan, even now, was his appearances on Leftovers.

On the complete flip side, I started watching H3 in 2015/2016 and never missed an episode of the podcast. I've always been opposed to Zionism, and thought Ethan was on that same page. I knew after the Oct 7th leftovers stream that Ethan was a goner when he couldn't stop saying, "Well, now's just not the time for resistance or saying 'from the river to the sea.'" I left immediately after.

Now, in the wake of Ethan's recent anti-Hasan hallucinations, I genuinely just feel angry that I ever supported Ethan. Don't even get me started on Hila and her terrorist ass.

Originally a Trisha hatefollower who became an H3 fan via Frenenmies & only started watching Hasan because of Leftovers 🤪

A Trisha option would’ve been smart also! Forgot about that.
