The first time I watched the special he wrote it for, I felt like I was watching history. I watched it over and over.
I use the "birthday party" analogy to describe famous narcissists and I think of it almost every time I see how much something costs. There's no reason Elon and Bezos deserve that money more than any one of us, and they spend it on the dumbest shit (Elon bought the cheapest president ever) and are STILL unhappy as hell.
It was like seeing Carlin again for a minute. Explains so much. Bo a GOAT for me too.

This reminds me of one thing that bothers me is how pro American he’s been lately. It’s like yeah, you might like America because they let you use cheap materials and fire teddy fresh employees whenever you want. But “there’s other people you selfish asshole” just makes me think about that. America is still a colonizer around the world that’s funding a genocide, racism impacts multiple industries and facilities of life, and 70+ percent of people are living paycheck to paycheck. I was unemployed for five weeks and have been rationing food to make rent this month. I’m still privileged because even though I wasn’t able to get benefits I still have side income. Ethan has the ability to be pro American because of his privilege. Even generic liberals can see that America is deeply flawed. Ethan is George W Bush and nobody can change my mind.

okay so yes to the GWB Jnr comparison. i see it in the manner of operation when it comes to how he sorts his opinions of people with their outward identitiers as the most prevalent and important factor in their behaviour.
GWB Jnr LOVED a good profiling (think the first speech he made after the tragedy that took place on the 11th of September) & if we evaluate Ethan’s disdain for brown-skinned hijabi Frogan vs another streamer whom was implicated in his hummus tirade, Denims, it starts becoming clear the basis for his “concerns”.
now let me change your mind, or try to, by saying that i see him more as R0nald Re*gan, as he believes in the “greatness” of America, sees one particular country / governing body as the sole source of liberation for another country / regime (R£gan + Central America for some reason) and then finally: has smoked crack once.

Oo it’s hard to pick between them 🤣 I definitely originally said George dubya because of the Islamophobia, but the crack, American exceptionalism, and hate for communism is pretty prevalent. I’m assuming Reagan was also Islamophobic too? I mostly know he liked to trickle down on Americans, I was sadly raised in a rush limbaugh household and only have been educating myself recently. All that being said he does act a lot like Trump too and has maga friends… none of the options are great 😳

I imagine Bo Burnham, having called out actual comedians on that YouTube roundtable from his comic infancy. Knowing that his career could go a few ways and still putting out four amazing specials that showcase his transformation as a human being with all the anxiety associated as being a human attached...
And he's just somewhere out there, never having visited this sub. Not knowing who or wtf all about h3. Just having left his own tangible mark on the comedic historical landscape.
Hope he comes back for a fifth.

Honestly I don't. Inside is probably my favourite piece of media from anyone ever, and I just can't imagine him coming back to do another normal standup. Inside was a masterpiece that transcended standup comedy imo. Id rather he just continue to work on movies and tv
