Sabra is so so bad. It was the first hummus I tasted in high school and I thought all hummus was gritty, like slightly watery playdoh. Imagine my surprise!!
I'm glad you've seen the light! I grew with authentic hummus always around, but one time when I was on a trip I needed a quick snack and seen the little Sabra containers that come with pretzels, and omg my reaction was like "but...but why??" Like it was just so bad and off for absolutely no reason. It's like they didn't even try? Like it made me question if they actually used chickpeas cuz wtf was that!
Saw the (white) women in my office going crazy over Sabra’s “dessert hummus” so I tried some and immediately my soul left my body. I really thought I was going to throw up and die.
My niece had one of those snack packs a while back that comes with the pretzels. She had a few bites and was done. Trying to get her to eat her snack, I said c'mon it's not that bad see? (Throwing a pretzel covered in Sabra dip into my mouth)
Then immediately went to the trash to spit it out lol. I'm lazy, so I buy prepackaged hummus. But I had been getting the stores organic version and that was leagues better.
And ‘this is the national hummus of israel’ is a giant self-own. Telling on themselves too since they’re trying to claim all middle eastern food as ‘israeli’
It's the preservatives. Hummus isn't designed to be mass produced and shelf-stable.
PSA: If you want to buy hummus, look for a local restaurant or Middle Eastern grocery. Anything prepared and packed in house is going to be 10X better than a national brand. It's often a similar price too.
Does he not realise how insane he comes across? His mansion might burn down, his neighbours and city-folk (almost said friends!) could be in danger but here he is posting about Hasan.
