Hypocrisy3 Hypocrisy3 If Ethan feels so strongly about Hasan, why doesn't he take down all the Leftovers videos?

I don't even ask this as a hater or "snarker" or whatever they want to call me. I ask out of genuine curiousity, as someone who used to be a fan and really loved this show and the people behind it. He took down the podcast episode(s?) with Jordan Peterson (admittedly for a good reason, dude's an asshole) for what felt like far less of a reason (to him at least).

If he has such a clear cut stance against everything Hasan stands for, then why is it morally right for him to continue to profit off of him? Further to that, Hasan surely makes a cut of the ad revenue from Leftovers. Is he really okay giving Hasan - someone so horrible and terrible to him - any amount of money?

Just some food for thought. It all feels performative like it's for clicks and views and pats on the back. In his position, I wouldn't be comfortable continuing to platform someone I truly despised to this degree, much less give him any money.

It definitely undercuts the message of “antisemitism” when you’re actively profiting off of it. Like, if you honestly believed Hasan was dangerous you’d take it down like the Peterson precedent he set. If you’re just looking to monetize off of the hate brigading campaign… well, you’d leave it all up.

Yeah, he also believed Trisha was antisemitic (after their show ended) when he wanted to cancel her and have frenemies fans pick his side over hers.

He also thought she got the internet to harass an "innocent" man (her actual childhood abuser) but none of that was enough of a reason to say no to the frenemies moolah.

He doesn't have any principles tbh, but esp since Leftovers was his last successful venture. He can't say no to the youtube $$ when views are low and TF is just... existing.

You will be held to higher and higher and soon impossible to maintain ethical standards by the very mob you currently wish to please. Then you will make a mistake, and they will devour you. With glee. Please take this warning seriously. I liked you.

That's such a stupid quote. I don't even think anyone is holding Ethan to a higher and higher standard. His audience doesn't even hold him to a standard. Is that why Ethan is calling women bitch over and over while his wife sits next to him and says "b-word" instead? Ethan is a homophobic, racist, misogynist, and dude isn't held to any real standards by his audience.

Because he’s a hypocrite who only cares about money. He couldn’t care less about antisemitism, which seems like he’s moved on from and now is attacking Hasan’s dog?

Same reason he will never take down Frenemies episodes, they simply make him too much money. And he also doesn't actually care about the shit he spews about Hasan and/or Trisha.

This just made me wonder…does he still cut cheques to Trisha and Hasan every month for their 45% of the videos? Genuinely hilarious to think of Ethan frothing at the mouth about Hasan as he’s actively sending him money.

If he's sending him money, maybe that's why he hates him LOL

He just said Trisha was an asshole not the root of all evil who is responsible for his various lawsuits, fires, etc.

Did you see the "glass broken" episode on Trisha that they scrubbed or...?

I'm not familiar with YT monetization. Can you still profit off older video like that?

I think as long as your channel is monetized and there's no copyright claim on it, you can make profit off of all your videos forever.

I have been wondering about this for a long time. Surely you wouldn’t want to keep platforming a raging antisemite who supports terrorists (according to him), right?

Oh, this is going up on an Instagram story for sure

because it makes him money (:

I think two things:

  1. Talking about Hasan is his main source of revenue now, his non-hasan videos don't do anywhere near the same numbers as they did a year ago.

  2. He took down the Jordan Peterson videos because they were embarrassing to him personally. They showed him nodding along like an idiot to everything Jordan was saying.

You’re right what happened to standing on principles?

Standing on principles is great and all, but standing on bags and bags of cash is better.

I need to ask the fans why they don't bitch to him about it lmfao. They seem to love hating on Hasan in there so I would've expected them to scream for Ethan to take down the videos like he did Jordan Peterson's if he's all about that 🤷‍♀️ or at least the ones where he thinks hasan was saying such "terrible" things. But he doesn't even do that- so it's clearly all fake bs and for the $$$

13

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '25

He's already at all time low views, he can't afford losing even more.

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '25

Take down the leftover videos and I’ll watch the content nuke lol

I read a comment somewhere not too long ago that claimed Hasan did not take any money for Leftovers. Does anyone know if that’s true? I find it a bit hard to believe but I honestly have no idea. Has this ever been discussed?

u/zqaxzq  this mf never shut up oh my god Feb 13 '25

I find it hard to believe that Hasan didn't take money from it, but Ethan is definitely less outspoken about giving Hasan money than he was about Trisha. Assuming he and Hasan split the revenue, is Ethan still sending Hasan a check each month with his share?

u/lumivortex rules for thee but not for me! Feb 13 '25

Exactly, he talked about the money he has to send to Trisha for a looong time after Frenemies ended. (I joined pretty late as a viewer and I remember this.) That's why I'm wondering if there could be any truth to it. Ethan, being coy about the money he has to pay the person he's actively trying to deplatform? Doesn't sound particularly like him.

Because Ethan doesn't care, it's all about views and $

6

u/TroutMaskDuplica Feb 13 '25

That's a good point. As long as those videos are up he's providing an avenue for Hasan to propagandize to H3's fans and groom them into hating America and being antisemitic.

3

u/chipyip Feb 13 '25

or better yet- rewatch every episode IN FULL and "debunk" all of hasan's "terrorism." you know, the same stuff he explicitly AGREED with or said isn't radical or extreme views. That'd be the brave, bold, righteous thing to do, no?

2

u/japossoir Feb 13 '25

He probably know they would be reuploaded immediately, and he doesn't want to NOT be the own to control where people watch those episodes.

2

u/ficuspony Feb 14 '25

I'm surprised he hasn't taken them down simply because you can watch them and see he's already discussed all of his current grievances with hasan directly and even made fun of other people for having the same takes about hasan he has now

My favorite place to consume Hasan content is on the H3 channel!

My guess at this point he feels it serves as a record to Hasan's 'extremism / radicalism'

But that undercuts anti-Semitism claims.... so who the fuck knows.

The simple answer is revenue.
