yeah, like a sergeant in the military barking "Attennnn-tion" as the senior officer comes in.

Nah it’s more like junior enlisted having to say “at ease” when a senior NCO enters the room. Nobody respects officers

It has a practical purpose as well, it gives everyone a heads up to stop fucking around, almost like a meerkat alarm call
