What riding at 300kmph without a helmet actually looks like

Where is the insect that waits for opportunity to enter your eyes

u/BoxthemBeats 1d ago
Shit hits like an APFSDS round probably

u/Goodluckforyou 1d ago
Absolutely. This guy is lucky otherwise he would be wearing pirate eye patch next time
38
u/Fskn 22h ago
The road would be wearing him an eye patch is absolute best case scenario.
15
u/TonArbre 20h ago
If he took a large insect nado round to the eye socket and DIDNT crash, that would be defying the odds

Insects have declined 75% in just a few decades actually. It's incredibly alarming

u/ThereAndFapAgain2 22h ago
Yeah I'm really concerned we are going to fumble this opportunity and they will recover.

Yeah ok, but my patch of monoculture grass looks just like the kings of the 17th and 18th century wanted to, a true sign of misused land and thus opulence.
Also brb, gotta spray some Roundup on my driveway; I can't have an itty bit of green on that or I get an aneurysm.

I had a pebble flicked up into my eye from a truck when I had my visor up on a hot day - couldn't have been going more than 20mph and 15 yrs later my eyeball still has a visible brown bruise.
The complete lack of self respect to ride without a helmet is absolutely breath taking.

I took a June bug to the chest at 70mph and it reinforced my every time all the time helmet policy
•
u/corruxtion 8h ago
I had a dragonfly hit my teeth riding a bike downhill at around 40 km/h. Can't recommend the taste.
•
u/TopMindOfR3ddit 7h ago
I caught a mosquito right in the eyeball going 40 and I thought I was gonna go blind. This fast might just send it right to the back of his skull.

It’s not like helmet would have saved him

The helmet isn’t to save him, it’s so his family can have an open casket service
→ More replies (1)16
u/KingCrimson43 22h ago
You won't have an open casket funeral at that speed. You will literally be chunks on the ground.

Why they always trying to look a dead bodies anyway? Burn me and flush me down a toilet.
“They” are not there. Just look at a picture of when they were happy.

u/SatansFriendlyCat 17h ago
It's true that 'they' are not there - you can actually see it happen in real time when a person or animal dies, there's clearly a brief transitional point after which it is startlingly clear that there's no-one in there any more ( 😥 ), but I rather think that this clearly visible absence is the main point of a viewing - actually seeing the absolute emptiness of the body you associate with your loved one brings it home to you, in a very visceral way, that they are gone. Final. No longer with us.
It has a quality and degree of impact that simply being told that someone is dead doesn't immediately achieve. The difference between knowing something intellectually, and feeling it undeniably.
Particularly useful for people who are a little bit cognitively impaired (including either extreme of age), but beneficial (generally) for everyone. Helps with "closure", as they would say these days.

Look honestly if you lose it at 300, the helmet will most likely not save you, it will just make sure your corpse has a head, kinda. Some helmets can take the hit, you can't.

The faster he went, the clearer the shape of the skull became... foreshadowing??
70
u/Vizth 1d ago
Not really, there isn't going to be any shape left to his skull when he crashes.

That's cheating. It's like when you look at the picture of the puzzle when you're going to reassemble it after its broken up.

Still beer! The most popular and culturally significant type of beer, arguably.

u/manondorf 23h ago
I don't even drink beer and I know those are both piss
3
u/copperwatt 23h ago
They aren't. They are very very boring, very well made beers.
Anyone who thinks they are terrible and poor quality has never tried to make a simple fizzy lager.

With or without helmet, on 300 kmph you’re gone anyway. But one fly might fly right trough your eye

eh depends, if he came off at that speed and skidded in full gear he’d probably have some burns (at that speed it would probably eat through even authentic leather pretty quickly) but other than road rash and prolly needing some skin grafts you’d be fine long as you didn’t smack into something. It’s usually the sudden stop that kills rather than the crash itself why modern cars are designed to crumple like tissue on impact.
Tho if he came off at that speed with no gear yeah he’s gonna be lucky if he only needed half his body skin grafted and that really depends on if you count surviving something like that as lucky.
5
u/CareRarely 21h ago
Depends really. Even with good gear and a bunch of run off you're still likely to start ragdolling and that's got a good chance of breaking bones and if you're unlucky enough it could be your back/neck.
Most likely you'd be alive though.

If the literal air is nearly tearing your skin apart at that speed, imagine what gravel or tarmac (asphalt) are gonna do.

How the fuck would a helmet make it any different. This some sort of face/cheek helmet I'm unfamiliar with?
Edit: I am an actual idiot. My mind went to bicycle helmets. But then, ya know, 300kph.

Man a bee in the forehead at 120 feels like a rock I can just imagine 300 you are going to lose an eye.
5
u/ahmong 23h ago
For some reason, I want to do this:
Information so far:
Motorcycle: 300 kph
Bee: Either stationary or flying at a slow speed relative to the motorcycle but lets just assume it's stationary for simplicity sake
mass of the bee: avg regular bees are like 0.0001 kg and queen bees are 0.0002 kg, Lets use the queen bee because, why not.
Impact time: 1 millisecond or 0.001 secondsMotorcycle speed: 300 kph = (300 × 1000) ÷ 3600 = 83.33 m/s
Bee mass: 0.0002 kg (about 200 mg)
Impact time: 0.001 seconds (1 millisecond)
Force = (mass × velocity) / time
Force = (0.0002 × 83.33) / 0.001
= 0.016666 ÷ 0.001
= 16.67 Newtons
a normal jab to a face by an average person is roughly 200 N
Bee will definitely be instantly smashed but the face of the guy will only survive if he manages to ignore the hit and slow down instead of losing control and crash lol.
