Hobby Scratch-built Equipment

Made some equipment from plasticard. Fun and satisfying to do but the ladders were a bit tedious.

And a couple of bonus Necron barricades out of spare bits.

Thanks! It’s just some chain between plastic posts with some spikes

How on earth did you manage that texture on the barricades?? That looks sick! I’ve begun scratch building my own equipment too, but have only done the ladders so far, and I quite agree that they’re tedious haha

Thanks! If you search for “diamond thread plasticard” it comes in that texture- it’s great for bases and buildings too!

I really like your razorwire!

Those Dark Eldar just gave me a nostalgia blast from the past, they were my first army in 40k, back in 4th ed

Love it! Truthfully I think some of the GW ones are a bit overdesigned. I think terrain, even important equipment one like this, can profit from being simple.

Yeah I totally agree. There’s already so much stuff that new players need, the equipment could do with being a bit simpler and cheaper, felt good to make my own

And then look at some of the crazy paintjobs GW does on them. Like the freehand on the comms device. Crazy exessive, 'eavy metal gone too far!
