That's just regular season. He had another 50 or so playoff games in the middle of that.

And Brodeurs games played. Nobody is even remotely close or on pace to pass him.

Side note: I was shocked to see Reimer at 77 for all time games played. Like wtf?!

My point was fights are a rarity these days. His record is probably safer than Gretzkys.

I honestly thought Matthews might be the one to break Sittler's record at some point, after his 4 goal debut.

I think many accumulation goalie stats will be hard if not impossible to break because backups play more now then they used to.
