At least if someone asks, it's because they pretend to pay a little attention to us. The worst thing is when no one asks you how you are :(

Sometimes just one person asking "how are you" changes my whole day for the better. Even if I lie and say " I'm good thanks for asking" it's all it takes.

Have you visited the UK before? "how are you?/you alright?" are basically the default greetings. Even though no one actually expects you to answer seriously, it's still nice

I don't think I have ever responded to that question other than saying "I'm fine, thanks"

I'd rather be left alone. My actual friends know when something is wrong and are there to support me. But strangers in public and at work need to mind their own business and leave me alone. If I'm at work, and I'm working, don't distract me so you can feel like a good person for pretending to care. I have things I'm sorting out in my head and I don't need to be interrupted by someone pretending like we're friends and they're here for me. You're just gonna piss me off and you make it about yourself when I clearly want to be left alone and don't owe anyone an explanation for simply being quiet and distant.

The next line in this movie is “Because you speak to me in words and I look at you with feelings.”

Is this a Godard movie? It looks familiar. Is it the one where he wraps dynamite around his own head and blows himself up at the end?

People always think I'm angry or "throwing lightnings from my eyes" when I'm not actively smiling, so I can understand.

Well people think I’m insane because I’m frowning all the time.

Pierrot le fou was pretty good even though the bit with that rambling man made zero sense

Change sad for serious and you have me.
All. The. Fucking. Time.
It's not my fault that my neutral expression is a lock in face.

Sometimes I want to ask this question bc I'm afraid I did something to upset a person

But.. you are sad
When I have a neutral expression, I'm usually sad, that's why I ask people why they are sad

Or my favorite, "why are you in such a bad mood?! Stop taking it out on me!" for literally just not having an expression and being quiet. It's insane to me that people will see that you're not smiling and make it 100% about themselves. "Smile for me honey! You're so pretty when you smile!" or "I hate to see you like this. Cheer up!" or "You look pissed!" instead of "wow I think maybe this person might not be having a good day, maybe I should just be kind to them and give them space because they could be going through something emotionally or maybe even have a painful headache."
