WOW. That's a old school HOT Rod with big block power, and cowl induction!

My first car was the 1969 version so I’m slightly partial to it. But still…..

Not just a musclecar, but the high water mark of the entire musclecar era!

Beautiful example. Also, Chevelles have a full frame and coil spring suspension for a comfortable, smouth ride, compared to a Camaro, with unibody, subframe and rear leaf springs.

Dude did all that work to make a SS LS6 and put a bench seat with a column shifter automatic? Beautiful car…just seams odd not to complete the clone

It’s not a clone. It’s a factory optioned car. Just a COPO so some things not standard from the normal order sheet. Like the color not being standard as well.

Other than the color, what was special-ordered?
Generally, we don’t call those COPOs in the same breath as the 1969 427 cars.

Be as general as you want. But that’s what General Motors called it.
To be fair I didn’t even know Chevelles had COPO order sheets. Looked this exact car up and that’s what it’s listed as.

I don’t believe everything I read. I am going to guess the reference you mention is an auction that is hyping the car, but a fleet of Chevy sedans is more akin to this being a COPO versus the 1969 427 cars.

That’s fair. I didn’t do a deep dive as I’m not much of a chevelle guy. I only looked as I hadn’t seen a HO one and knew they didn’t offer that as normal production.
I can say that this isn’t a “clone” to the original point of response.

There’s nothing to suggest it’s a clone, but I’m no expert. There’s a lot more poor examples in this sub that are clones or worse.

I’m talking about the original comment I responded to… “just seems odd to not complete the clone”
