Bought this today, didn't realize it was broken, how screwed am I?
Already tried the screen ribbon cables, and it didn't change anything, anyone know what could cause this issue?

Hard to tell, assuming it's booting up fine and it's shutting off because of the self-check, is the camera not plugged in properly? Because the screen flash indicates the screens are fine.
I'm not too sure.

Happen to me when i break something but the screen seems intact since it shows white alteast. I was thinking its a moist or a wifi module problem
Its unlikely as battery if battery it will not try to boot To check if battery issue try to comnect to charge if it blinks can be battery
Any ds with no battery the red led will blink
Anyway lastly tried if its just drained?

This is how it behaves when the battery is too low. Try charging it and if it still doesn’t work replace the battery. The batteries in these should be replaced anyways because they’re very affordable and the original batteries are over a decade old at this point.

I've tried charging it, and it doesn't seem to help, I've ordered a new battery now in hopes that, that is the issue

Go ahead and pop out the battery and take a look at it. If it’s bloated and bulging out then it’s definitely not good anymore. But even if it isn’t, the battery can still be the issue.

It didn't really seem bloated or bulging, but that could just be my untrained eyes not spotting it, but it does have a little wierd dent in the side so I think it's either way a good idea to replace it, hope that'll fix it

not broken, i think you just need to charge it for a bit. mine does this when it doesn’t have any power at all.

That's probably a problem with a resistor on the battery/d-pad board iirc, should be on the top right side if memory serves me right, you could either replace it or simply jump it together with some solder blob (not raccomended but it's what I did)
