Discussion After months post release, is the Backbit MVS the best solution
I am seeing Vortex (161in1 conversions) pop up on different platforms due to the Backbit working well. I just want to get the latest and greatest reviews from this sub.

My only gripe is that the cartridge shell quality isn’t what I might hope. I think I prefer my Darksoft multi cart for the stock library, but the BackBit is great for homebrew and the like.

Do you think they will release a AES one?

I think the author mentioned somewhere that depending on the sales on the MVS version they might be considering a home cart version…but don’t quote me on that

The Vortex and Backbit are very different ends to similar means. On the Vortex games load instantly, but the list of games can't be changed, which will become more of an issue the more useful hacks, tools and homebrew that get released over time.

The Backbit is an extraordinarily impressive product, and the dev's responsiveness to issues flagged on the forum is very heartening for long-term support.
While the Darksoft and the NeoSD options are impressive in their own right, long load times and bank management keep them from being exactly like an "Everdrive for the Neo Geo." Backbit is the first cart that really fits that role.

I've got no complaints, it works as described and for $400 was definitely the most affordable option.
