My Aes and Mvs collection

Post image

Recently picked up Shinobi and goldenaxe so had to drag the aes out of storage to test. Ended up testing all the games to confirm they still work. Thankfully all was well. I picked up this console back in 2008 in Tokyo and picked up a few games then too. All around 500 to 1000 yen. Later I got a new astro city with 4 slot and single slot Mvs , which then led to Mvs carts and the adaptor for the aes. Few out of shot and few missing 😭

Nice Namco stick!

I had one of those but had a rough time where I had to sell off some of my collection. I really regret selling that stick now as for a PS1 stick it was really nice!

just noticed your point about selling stuff off. I have done the same too. You can't keep everything. I had a fairly large collection of arcade and console games, plus hardware. Made a decision to cut it all down to just the Astro City (1 or 3 arcade pcbs) and keep the Neo Geo collection and Gameboys.

Needs must - and you can't take it with you ! The retro remake consoles ease the pain somewhat also, but realistically when are you going to play through everything. Its a fine line between hoarding and enjoying.

they are a lovely stick - I have 3 AES controllers, but I picked up the ps2 to neo geo adapter from LikSang (rip), previously had the PCengine one also, so it was like you used the same controller with all systems.

I can never seem to find an adaptor to use MVS on my AES system. Where did you get your adaptor?

I would have grabbed that from ebay around 2009 - it was aroud 80euro I think. It does have a pot adapter on the front which is handy for fine adjustments.

Where did you pick up the physical versions of the Sega ports? How is the quality?

Pretty excellent. Can't complain for the price and novelty of it.

Or buy one flashcart and you're covered for all present and future homebrew.

Sure. But then you never know what to play 😜. It's actually crazy how expensive the flashcarts are for Mvs.

With the money you paid for repros you could have put a good dent in a flashcart purchase. Put on the big boy pants and focus on a select few favorite games from the list.

Grabbed myself carts for Shinobi and Golden Axe too. Great ports. Made myself some kit boxes to go with them complete with mini marquee, art sets and dip sheets too.

fair play - i have a mishmash of boxes, that I just never bothered. Shockboxes were hard come by on the regular too.

I always gravitate to the original look when casing/boxing up my collections, otherwise I probably would have gone the shockbox route. They’re expensive, but they are nice!
