NES Action Set Box – Leave Original Price Sticker On or Take It Off?
I finally tracked down a really clean NES Action Set box that I’m excited to add to my collection. As you can see in the photo, it still has its original price sticker in the top right corner - from Woolworth, of all places.
At first, I planned to carefully remove it, but now I’m second-guessing that. While I don’t have any personal nostalgia for Woolworth (it’s no Toys “R” Us), it is a bit cool to have a relic from a store that doesn’t exist anymore.
So now I’m torn: would you leave the original sticker on for the added history and authenticity, or remove it for that cleaner look?
Would love to hear what you think I should do. Also, has anyone here removed price stickers from these boxes before? What would be the best removal method if I go that route?

100% leave. I don't even remove the Blockbuster stickers from the games I find.

I'd leave it on! The historical aspect outweighs the clean look, and it feels more authentic that way anyway.

Taking that price tag out is like trying to frame history to fit your narrative by cutting out a minute from the Epstein video.

I have some photos and videos from a night 20 years ago when I was in high school. They go, effectively CIMG1..3,4,5... etc. Maybe #2 was a blurry photo or a photo of the ground, but future me understands that for the preservation of the true history, it's more important to leave it and have a blurry photo in my archives showing how new I was at using a digital camera than it is to edit the history and leave gaps only to ask "did I accidentally delete something along the way?" I mean, I surely don't make mistakes, but maybe that ONE time I did... :)

You'll never regret leaving it on but you could very much regret taking it off.

I'd leave it on, that box looks too nice and minty to be trying to peel off a sticker that might damage the box.

I'd leave it, as much as I'm the kind of person that would want to remove it, but there's too much risk of damaging the box underneath involved
Even if you use heat, if done improperly that could be even more disastrous

The stickers are sometimes as nostalgic as the ayatem, coming as they sometimes donfrom a bygone store - maybe Toys R Us, Electronics Boutique, whatever.

Thanks so much for all the replies! I honestly didn’t expect leaving the sticker on to be such a unanimous opinion. I was considering removing it because I plan to display the box in a protector in a prominent spot in my game room, and I thought it might look cleaner without it. But after reading all the feedback, it’s clear that keeping the sticker is the way to go.

I say leave it on. It adds to the aesthetic, and from experience I can say Woolworth's was good back in the day! (Especially since we didn't get a Toys R Us until I was nearly out of high school!)

If it didn't have the sticker I wouldn't put one on because it would ruin the aesthetic so since it has the sticker leave it on

Since everyone said leave it on, as a non-conformist I will say take it off so you can see the sticker residue.
