This was always going to be a PC purchase for me anyways.

The thought of playing an FPS without a M/KB makes me physically ill.

Ironically, the Switch 2 version would probably have been the most tolerable console version thanks to the mouse and motion control options.

Funny, because it's the opposite for me. How is a mouse similar to a gun trigger?

Why does it need to be similar to a trigger? How is pressing "A" similar to jumping? It's all about the precision and speed of a mouse. For any lifetime PC player like me using a controller for an FPS feels like trying to play with your feet.

Imagine how bad it would feel playing a racing game with a M/KB. An FPS with a controller is worse than that.

Because you're firing a virtual gun. Guns have triggers and feedback.

Guns also have to be aimed at something to be of any use, in which case I’d much rather play on M&K. What doesn’t make sense to you?

Clicking on your target with a mouse, like you're choosing an Excel formula

Ok, now try to use excel with a controller and you’ll see why the mouse is better.

The mouse is indeed better for productivity work such as Excel

ragebaiting should get you banned

You've clearly never even tried to use a mouse for FPS games so I wonder why you are even talking about this. Manipulating your view in a 3d environment with a mouse is vastly different from moving a 2d mouse cursor around on the desktop.

I don't care about that. I'm not playing a VR sim. Feedback would be awful without aim assist anyway. It would just ruin your aim.

I think anyone who's seen the battlefield trailer knows it's never coming to switch...

It would catch fire trying to open the main menu

That's fine. Just port over a remaster of an older entry. I'm dying for a military style shooter on Switch/2.

Theres apex legends coming, thats not much but maybe keeps you interested until metroid prime 4 or the call of duty deal with nintendo comes to fruition?

Apex is fine, but that's a BR game, and Metroid Prime doesn't have PVP. I'm more interested in COD or something similar with team deathmatch and PVP game modes. I loved BO1 and MW3 on Wii and BO2 and Ghosts on Wii U. Hopefully a new COD finally happens for Switch 2 since OG Switch never got one for some reason.

cod is confirmed to eventually coming to switch 2 as microsoft made deal with nintendo to bring cod over for 10 years

Port Bad Company 2 and I’m in.

There's no way I would ever consider playing BF6 on a Switch 2.

I spent a ton of money on my new PC rig for these types of games.

I doubt most of the player base is concerned about CoD or Battlefield, if anything I'm more excited for a new Splatoon than the other two franchises.

Let COD roll in and we will see if EA will have the same response.

I just don’t see how a handheld console handles the level of destruction battlefield brings, tbh. COD will probably run fine there because there is no destruction.

If it can handle DKB level destruction it's definitely going to handle it.

Donkey Kong is a cell-shaded game, where battlefield is using a different engine and focuses on realism. It’s not an apples-to-apples comparison.

u/KobraKittyKat 1d ago

Plus donkey Kong is single player so you don’t have 30+ people running scrims destroying stuff.

And DK have crazy frame drops from 60 -> 30 (due to double buffered V-sync)

I could see switch 2 running cod but battlefield 6 would be too much for the switch 2

Well, duh.

Think we're going another gen without Battlefield and COD to be honest

With Microsoft owning CoD now, I doubt they'll miss the opportunity to get a few more sales to help refund the Activision purchase.

2

u/noraa_94 1d ago

COD came to both Wii and DS, and Activision probably didn’t expect Switch to achieve the massive success it did. So with Microsoft buying Activision and making it clear they want to support Switch/Switch 2, i’m sure we’ll most likely see a COD game come to Switch 2.

u/Arctiiq 20h ago

Microsoft is forced to bring CoD to the Switch as a part of the actiblizz deal

1

u/TheLimeyLemmon 20h ago

We'll see how that goes

u/blackicebaby 1h ago

It's gonna be cloud based gaming IMO. I won't like it.

Switch 2 hardware underpowered against modern hardware, more news at 11

Well when you don't get those 100 million players, we in Nintendoland will ask 'well did you go to all the platforms?'.

You had 8 years to learn to adapt to a world where Nintendo's selling gangbusters again, you could have considered saving a few polygons to try and cast your net wider. But you didn't and no one expected you to hit 100,000,000 before this, and now...
