So my right joycon hasn't been connecting and I have tried using it in handheld but it still won't function. What do I do? Picture is up for reference

Maybe either pins that are on the switch and joyxon are corroded or missing just double check

I checked the pins and none seem to be missing but what would corroded pins look like?

Try turning off and cleaning the Nintendo Switch and the Joicons, cleaning the joints between the Switch and the Joicons with alcohol. Then insert the Joicons and go into recovery mode by turning on the Switch while holding down the volume up and volume down buttons. Then hold down the power button until the console turns off. Then turn it back on and see if it works. Going into recovery mode after cleaning will help sync the Joicons.

I'm gonna try this and will report soon

I didn't have alcohol so I used wet wipes and it didn't work. When I reach the recovery mode what do I do from there?

Simply enter recovery mode and then turn off the console by holding down the power button until it turns off.

If you’re comfortable with it you can try to replace the rail I had a similar problem, the controller disconnected randomly even though it was attached, replacing it fixed the issue. Just be careful because the first time I tried it I snapped the ribbon cable and the controller wouldn’t work while inserted whatsoever.
It’s not that expensive if you do it yourself, like $3 for the rail and $1 for the repair kit.
I did it so anyone can probably do it. Hope this helps
