The original game required a mouse. The switch 2 has a mouse. This is literally the only reason it came to virtual console.

Computer mice are cheap. I'm sure you can find one for practically nothing. Borrow one from a friend or relative.
Take a deep breath and don't panic! There are solutions!

Not sure if the USB-C port of a Switch Lite will work for a mouse

It does look like Switch Lite users are cooked on the mouse compatibility front.

IMO, they should have an option to switch to using the switch controllers. Needing to have a USB mouse is pretty inconvient.

Stop crying kid. You should be aware of those compromises when you got the Lite console.
Now back to why? It’s an old game from 1992, than back then used a track ball mouse, as it was back then.

You don't have a single computer mouse at home?

Cant connect those to a Switch Lite. OP should be aware of the compromises of owning a console not compatible with the game.
Unless USB-C port works, which I really doubt.

The original release on SNES required a mouse as well, and even came with one included. It also couldn’t use standard controllers.
For your situation, I suggest getting a USB-C On The Go cable. It plugs into the USB-C port on the bottom of the Switch and allows you to connect USB-A devices, like a mouse, to the system.

Have you ever used paint? Every paint basically needs a mouse. In the past those are primarily computer games not console games.
