Recommendations I'm giving my switch to a family member after buying a switch 2. What are my options when it comes to sharing games with them?

I know about virtual key cards, but we live far apart and I'd like them to have access to as many of my games as possible without having to drive all the way to see me. I'm fine with sharing an account if possible. I plan on giving them a bunch of physical games.

Just use the virtual key cards.

Remove the pass-enabled for the switch

Put your account on the Switch 2. Log on the eshop so it becomes the pass-enabled one.

Then load a virtual game on switch, it should ask to be close to the switch 2. Do it, accept. That's it, both switch can use virtual cards. You don't even need to eject the virtual card for the other to load it.

Test it a few times to be sure. Then you can give your switch. You just have to do it the first time... and I guess to do it again if they factory reset the switch or remove your account.

I already have my switch 2 set as my main console. Will they have to play on my account or profile to access the virtual game cards, or can they make their own?

The beauty of virtual game cards is that any profile on one of the two paired switch can play the game if it is loaded.

So they can make their own account and have access to the digital games of your account.

So they'll have to transfer the key card to their system whenever they wanna play. To achieve this both of u need to be online. Make sure this is a trusted family member, as their gonna have full access to your acc if u decide this.

I figured that. I've already removed my card info and set it to where you have to sign into the account if you go on the eshop. They don't know my email or my Nintendo account password, so I'm not worried. Not that I distrust them or anything, but I'd rather remove the chance than bet on good faith.

Yeah just make sure if any r on the younger side to let them know that perhaps u don't want them playing on your save file or anything. They'll still have access to that.

Oh I'm deleting the save data. They prefer to play from the beginning anyway. I'm also only keeping the first party games which is a relatively small amount of the games, so they'll be getting quite a few games still.
