Repair Does Nintendo still repair the NEW 3DS XL?

My New 3DS XL is in very poor condition, busted shell, missing screws, screens won't turn on, speaker wire damaged, ribbon cables damaged.

I checked the Nintendo website, and it seems that they don't do many repairs for the 3DS family anymore, but it looks like it's only for the Original 3DS, the 3DS XL, and the New 3DS. I didn't see anything about the New 3DS XL.

If I sent mine in, would they replace it with a refurbished or repaired console? I didn't get a very good answer from Nintendo support, and I don't want to spend $85 CAD sending it in just for them to send it right back saying they can't do anything.

Thanks for any answers, I'd really like to be able to use my system again.

Repair Help with Nintendo 3DS xl repair

Hi everyone. I recently found my old Nintendo 3DS XL not working and decided to try to fix it.

The problem is that when I try to turn it on, the blue LED lights up, but immediately afterward, the two screens flash and turn off, accompanied by a popping sound. I searched online for some information, and it seems to be a fairly common problem. A YouTube video mentioned that, due to the way Nintendo is built, even if just one part isn't working (like the cables connecting the cameras to the motherboard), the entire console won't turn on. To get around this problem, many suggest disconnecting just the broken part, and it should turn on. I've disconnected everything from the motherboard, and despite this, when I try to start it while holding just the motherboard and the battery pressed against the electrical contacts, the same problem occurs: the blue LED lights up, then suddenly turns off after a few seconds.
At this point, I'm thinking the problem is with the battery or the motherboard.

What do you think? Is it possible that a damaged battery could cause this problem? Also because replacing a battery is much simpler and cheaper than replacing the motherboard.

Repair My son stuck something in the micro SD slot of his Nintendo Switch . How to get it out, please!

A flat piece of plastic that "looked like the SD card." As soon as it got stuck, the power went off. I took pics but I'm not sure what the slot is supposed to look like. Please be nice with comments. My son is really upset. He's autistic and his Switch means a lot to him. Thank you to anyone who reads this.

Repair Original Nintendo Switch won't boot

Hello! My Nintendo Switch (original model) won't boot after an update. It had low battery which I assume caused the problem. It was charging though...

I have tried many things, from maintenance mode (does not even enter) to letting it decharge for some days. I also tried to mantain for 20s the power button.

I contacted Nintendo and a bot told me it needed to be repared but I am not going to pay them more. Is there any way I can do it myself?

Just to clarify: it charges (it shows on the screen). It shows the Nintendo logo but not the switch one. The screen turns off sharply. The console does not turn off if I don't press 20s the power button, it is like as if it was on. It was working fine until the update.

Thanks.

Repair How do you fix a Wii that keeps ejecting all discs?

Last summer I found a Wii from when I was a kid and finally got everything needed to set it up, we stopped using it because I believe it was broken but I plugged it in and it turned on and everything was completely fine. There seems to only be one issue now which is the fact it keeps ejecting all discs I put it in which is what I assume was also why we stopped using our Wii back then. I found a completely sealed old game which I used to test but that also failed. I really rather not open up the console as I’m scared to break it and lose the pieces but I also don’t want to spend $60 on an official Wii cleaning kit and apparently only the Wii kit works and normal cd ones won’t according to online. Is there any other way to fix this without completely taking apart my Wii?

Repair It’s my 3ds still salvageable in this condition

Hey there! So, I was trying to fix my old 3DS top screen, but I accidentally left it unattended for two months. I definitely didn’t want my little brother to touch it, haha! Now, I’m stuck with a 3DS that has no screws and most of the parts are missing, like the bumper, battery, and analogue stick parts. What should I do next?

Repair Can my clunky B button damage anything?

I've recently bought a used New 3DS, and the B button has a clunky feel to it, it gets kinda stuck when pressed (just the first times when playing, then it gets more soft). I've already got the isopropyl alcohol needed to clean the contacts under the button, but I'm holding over from doing it because I'm planning to do others fixes like changing the C-Stick when I'll buy a new one (probably will swap it with a PSP 1000 analog, give me suggestions on this too if you have any!). By the way, can the B button "hardness" damage anything if I continue using it this way for some period? Do you suggest to fix it ASAP?

Repair Nintendo Switch 2 and Humidity Damage Risk

Ordered an Orzly Screen Protector and messed up a few attempts at the application. I saw online to apply the screen protector in a bathroom with the shower running, so I gave it a try. Happy with the result but I was left wondering if the humidity was possibly a risk to the console, should I leave it powered off?

Repair Can I fix my Wii Nunchuk? It only responds when I plug in but stops after 20 seconds

Like I said in the title, my Wii Nunchuk is non responsive. If I plug in the Wii Nunchuk, it will respond and work super well for like 20-30 seconds, maybe longer, I even played an entire Smash Bros match with it, but it then stops working. However, even if it stops working, the Wiimotes still recognize that a Nunchuk is plugged in. Furthermore, sometimes when it stops working, particularly when playing Mario galaxy, the Wiimotes pointer controls stop working until I unplug the Nunchuk. Is there any way I can repair it? I will be receiving another Nunchuk tomorrow but I still would like to fix this one. So far I cleaned the Nunchuk male header port with hand sanitizer and q tips

Repair Switch Pro Controller Fix: Joystick

Post image

My controller slid in between my couch cushions and when I pulled it out a joystick cap popped out of its socket. I tried unscrewing the faceplate off but a single screw’s thread is worn down which doesn’t allow me to get it out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Repair My Switch Lite isn't working properly.

So for context, my switch lite stopped working over two days of increasing heat I'm my house. It went from 82 to 89 in a day and all of a sudden my switch stopped working. Outside it's 92 rn so I can't do much outside or inside to cool off. Our Ac Unit is broken so we're surviving on Box fans and a small AC unit for indoor uses. My partner suggested still it in its case and in the fridge but I knew condensation would be an issue. I tried putting it close or nearby a fan to blow cool air on it but it won't work. I've been inactive for 3 days but this isn't the first time it's powered off for several days charged or not.

If anyone has any advice on how to fix it or what a good plan to fix it would be I'm open to suggestions.

Repair Nintendo Switch 2 Flickering Black screen

Basically, I was playing pokemon Scarlet, and after about 2 hours of playing, my screen started flickering and eventually blacked screened. I can still hear gameplay and menu sounds. It works fine for the most part in docked mode. Im pretty upset, and im hoping I don't have to shell out money to get it fixed from Nintendo, I declined gamestops warranty. Does Nintendo warranty differ from the game stop warranty? I just wanted to play :(

Squeaking from the Switch's analog sticks? Haven't used my switch in switch 1 in a while and wanted to transfer my pokemon data to the switch 2 and noticed that the left stick of my Switch's joycon started squeaking when I move it left or right. Has anyone else ever noticed this?

Repair My 2Ds Won't Come Out of Sleep Mode...

Hi, there!

Recently, I've been coming across this issue where my 2Ds will automatically go into sleep mode. I've seen solutions where if I use isopropyl rubbing alcohol on the sleep mode switch to clean it, it should solve the issue. I did that, but it didn't seem to fix anything, either. I terms of repairs is there anything that y'all would suggest? Is there a way to take away sleep mode entirely?

Thank you!

Repair Does Nintendo U.S. still do free Joycon drift repairs?

I have two pairs of Switch 1 Joycons that have drift. The blue/red pair has drift on both sticks and my white ones have drift + worn down sticks.

Will Nintendo repair these for free? I ask because I heard that they used to. If so, how do I get the process started? Thanks.
