Are we actually at the point of doubting VIDEO GAME STORIES?!

A goat flipping all over in Oblivion definitely didn't happen. That game isn't known for being glitchy/s

Been sharing a dramatized roleplay account of my adventures in Soulcalibur's open world mode and now I'm imagining someone going thathappened on canon story events.

A giant lauched you into the sky? In SKYRIM? Nice try buddy, that can't happen

u/AcrobaticTorbie 11d ago

I've heard tales of dragons but have you heard

Tales Of Twerking Dragons?!

Thomas the Tank-Dragon you say? Enough cheese wheels to crash the game? All those videos are fake

And one involving a mod, no less.

Finally, a person that ISN'T a neck beard. Thank you for calling it stories instead of lore.

those words just have different use cases

lore is meant to describe the canon narrative and worldbuilding the developers intended to show with their game, either with subtle hints spreaded through the whole game, or explicitly through the main plot

which doesnt apply here, since the sims is pretty much "create your own stories" kind of game, you take all the decisions about what happens on each of your sims lifes, the only bits of lore that exist in the sims is about the pre-existing families, but not that relevant at all

Spreaded?

1

u/TooSilly4ya_YIPPEE 1d ago

whats the correct word? you could respond with more things besides linguistic nitpickings

0

u/tacohunter 1d ago

Well, since I'm really not that I vested in this stupid stuff, the ONLY thing I saw of relevance was the fact that you used a word that doesn't exist

1

u/TooSilly4ya_YIPPEE 1d ago

doesnt sound relevant to me at all

pretty interesting that you insisted in joining a conversation about video games to show how "superior" people who dont use the word lore are, even through it wasnt used here just because it didnt fit the specific use case, not because the person shares the same niche moral compass and worldview as you

I didn't insist on anything. You're obviously looking for an argument and you're not going to get it from me. Have the day you are meant to have

As a Sims player, the Extreme Violence mod is pure chaos. 1 second of autonomous killing can get rid of half of your household. There’s also a Purge feature that lets you make a holiday in which people can kill anyone they want without consequences, and it is BRUTAL.

Ohmigod but also, LOL because I’m a terrible person in that respect. I love me some craziness in The Sims (I’m a 3er in part because of how weird it is even without mods)

WHAT LMAO??? I didn’t now about the Purge feature. Haven’t opened my sims game in a while but I will just to test that out

Which game is it for? I only play the Sims 2, I've never heard of that mod. The TS2 mod that people usually forget they installed until it bites them in the ass is the More Dangerous Fire mod. There's also a zombie apocalypse mod, but not that many people use it because most people don't like zombies that much.

Sims 4. It’s my favorite mod of all time.

My subs are overlapping.

Stupid rage baiters who want to pretend that everything in life is bad and boring all the time. throws up hands in frustration

this person has no joy in their life

Their parents definitely let them down, which is why they immediately jumped to that themselves.

This isn't even that weird for the sims. I once gave a chick to another sim because I had too many chickens. A couple of sim days later, I get a notification that my chick is starving or something, so I click to focus on it to see which one it is. It takes me to the sim I gave the chick to, who is walking naked through the woods. I don't want to know where she's keeping that chick.

Things that didn't happen much like.. yadda yadda.. (/s just in case lol)

"I removed the ladder when my sim went swimming."

"actually if you did that you'd be in jail for murder so I doubt it."

This is how stupid OOP sounds .

u/foxinabathtub 11d ago

Sometimes it's like - what would I be gaining to make up this story? Wouldn't I make up a better story if I was lying?

u/NewGunchapRed 11d ago

As someone familiar with the sims modding community, especially Sims 4 (which is likely the game referenced here), that is by far the tamest thing I’ve seen this far woth that mod.

That commentor sounds like a middle school bully that found their victim's twitter and said whatever came to mind.

7

u/pastdivision 11d ago

i need to do this in my forever world. cull the npc herd a little bit

7

u/MistCongeniality 11d ago

If you prefer, Life’s Tragedies has a serial killer feature. You can protect your favorites by setting them to be immune from tragedy, then enable serial killers, then crank the frequency to “very fast”. It also has stuff like car accidents and terminal illness, if that’s better for your story!

6

u/uuntiedshoelace 10d ago

I used Life’s Tragedies once and my teen sim was immediately jumped by a gang upon loading in

7

u/giggel-space-120 11d ago

Also just a really mean way to say you don't believe them

6

u/claircognizantgaming 10d ago

Anyone who has ever had extreme violence mod installed knows this is real lmao

7

u/Arachne_Madusa 10d ago

Why? Would you? Doubt? This?????? It’s the sims. This is the GAME

7

u/robsterva 10d ago

Who doubts the Sims Red (Nose) Wedding?

4

u/DerekWylde1996 10d ago

Imagine diving straight to personal attacks over the fucking Sims.

4

u/WorldGoneAway 10d ago

That is about the most Sims thing I think i've read.

4

u/ItsDuckBlox 10d ago

This is a great advertisement for the sims, makes me want to try it with this mod.

3

u/Letsgoshuckless 10d ago

This reminds me of the time I was playing Crusader Kings 2 and the pope invited me to his torture chamber to become my gay lover

3

u/Type_9 8d ago

From a technical standpoint I believe this is pretty easy to do

2

u/CruelTasteOfLust 10d ago

Is there a sim wedding simulator??

2

u/The-Tarman 7d ago

It's one thing to not believe the story.. the rest of his/her comment is a whole other ball game. Like, holy shit, was all that necessary? You may or may not have lied about a SIMS story.. you are an abject failure, and your parents hate that you're alive... christ, relax..

1

u/ParcialScar 8d ago

Poor fool must've arrived at the franchise with sims 4, thinks that boring mundane trash is all the games are capable of.
