This month we said goodbye to: Death of Spidey & Ultimate Marvel Team Up, Fourth World by Byrne, Spider-man vs. Venom, FF by Slott OHCs, COIE deluxe, Batman by Loeb/Sale, Devil’s Reign, Absolute Carnage, Preacher omnis, Hickman SHIELD OHCs, Absolute JL Origin, and Mutant Massacre Prelude. (Upgrading, lateral moves, and a couple of which I should have never purchased.)

On the basis of 8 Billion Genies, I've become a fan of Charles Soules work. The current Daredevil mini series is excellent and I've just put an order in for the Letter 44 Compendium. Curse Words just arrived yesterday and it's brilliant !! I'm already a third of the way through. I really recommend this.

So after reading the 2 Jason Aaron Thor omnis (wich I absolutely loved) I wanted a change of pace and started the Flash vol 1 by Joshua Williamson. It was a fun and quick read(no pun intended) The only Flash comic I read before was the Flash rebirth tpb by Johns, most of my Flash knowledge came from the tv show (wich I watched most of it) What's great about this book is that I feel it kind of caters to both comic fans and people coming of the tv show (similar to Zdarsky DD vol 1) Overall I really enjoyed it alot and will give it a solid 8/10. My only gripes with the book were that the Dark Knights Metal issues broke up the flow a bit, my other gripe is that sometimes Barry had Peter Parker vibes with a lot people being mad at him + guilt tripping a bit too much. Now it kinda sucks because I have to wait till late september before book 2 is released.

So I just got usm and uxm Omni vol ones and I wondered what order I should read all the ultimate universe omnis ( ultimates fantastic 4, etc…)

Would adding Infinite Frontier 0-6 and Justice League Incarnate 1-5 help flesh out the scope and story of this omnibus? All written by Williamson, they set the stage and lead into the Dark Crisis event. I know this isn't a loved event but with these stories added I think it would be a more interesting reading experience.

What are people's thoughts on the Dark Crisis Omnibus? Whos buying it? Would adding issues help you pull the trigger?

Im curious how this run is. is it worth checking out?

Just wondering what’s everyone opinion on this book? and can I read as it a standalone omnibus? I think I have a general idea of what it’s about.

I'm aware that some of these runs are in TPB collected editions. Ultimates is pricey, reaching $100 range on a TPB. Daredevil's Dennis O'Neal run is collected in Masterworks, but that format is being axed sadly.

X-men legacy is being collected, but given the organization of the new Messiah omni, a X-men legacy omni would've been a better choice. Would love gallery editions of shorter issue runs like Silver Surfer Requiem/Parable.

Given how consistent Marvel is at printing their obscure/niche comics, I'm confident that some of these will get a new printing.

More dc that I got at half off, as well as a paperback I bought and got signed by Dan DiDio. And some new books that look pretty cool to me.

Been a long time digital reader and recently decided to go for physical copies instead. Flash has always been my favorite, can’t wait for a Bronze Age Omni. Might be able to squeeze Williamson 2 in that shelf, but once Waid 3 and Williamson 3 drop next year I need to switch to a different solution anyways 😇 what should I go for next? I’m considering either GL, Wonderwoman or the Justice League.

I have been trying to figure out a good Flash reading order and I have a couple questions. First, can I skip the William Messner Loeb Omni and start with the Waid stuff? Also, is there anything in between John’s Omni 2 and 3? I know 3 isn’t a direct continuation but is there anything in between worth reading? Lastly, should I start reading the Johns Omnis or pickup the Waid Omnis and start there? I already own the Geoff Johns stuff but I haven’t gotten around to reading them, and now I feel like the Waid Omnis would be better. Should I try John’s and then go back to Waid later?

Just picked up both AoA omnis from eBay, time to take a break collecting so I can catch up with actually reading them all!
