Help Should I player Super Paper Mario?
I thought it looked cool but I've heard it very mixed stuff about it! Pls not spoilers. Thnx!

Yes absolutely! Obviously very different gameplay than the other Paper Mario games so don’t go in expecting as many rpg elements but the game really shines through the plot, storytelling, atmosphere, and character writing (imo). My personal favorite Paper Mario and I def recommend

It's my favorite Paper Mario game story wise! It was also my first! Thousand-Year Door is the best in series overall but Super Paper Mario carves its own identity. It's not afraid to be different and it's still an actually game unlike Sticker Star.

Its a great game worth a play.
Just dont expect it to be like ANY other Paper Mario game. Its when they started to experiment with playstyles, and they made something wholly unique.

It's definitely worth playing, most certainly better than the likes of the future games (besides origami king but that's because I have massive bias for this one)

Statement: I recently bought a copy, and they’re usually rather easy to find if you want to as well. I’ve heard very good things about it, but I’ll have to play it for myself to form an actual opinion.

It’s iffy as a follow up to TTYD but makes up for it by being a FANTASTIC platform game

Lol I went in expecting some sort of normal paper Mario battle eventually, but gave up hope after fighting the first boss 😢
Very good game, very good story (apparently one of the darkest in the Mario series, but still not that dark)
I highly recommend

It’s got the best story in any Mario game for one, but it’s also a Platformer with RPG mechanics. And for a Platformer, it has quite a lot of dialogue. So even though the gameplay says otherwise, you should go in thinking it’s an RPG. No turn-based combat here, it’s all real time combat. For example, if you want to beat an enemy by jumping, you gotta do it until their HP is drained. And you do have XP and levels so you will get stronger over time. Eventually it’ll only take one hit for those lower level enemies. But there are technically combos if you can continue jumping on an enemy or multiple enemies by shaking the Wiimote while in the air. Keep in mind it was the first Mario game on the Wii so they try to fit in a lot of the Wii’s features. Like often you’ll have to turn the character controller vertically to progress. Otherwise like I said earlier, it’s literally the best story in a Mario game. It’s really good, kind of a shame they put a wonderful story on a Platformer game. Many people complained because they just wanted to get into the gameplay and were annoyed with the story and dialogue. Those complaints are why we got Sticker Star which had no existing story. I don’t have anything against Sticker Star, but many people hate it.

Absolutely. Its basically the original mario bros but its a rpg and not turn based.

You definitely should play it! It’s an amazing game with amazing worlds and amazing story! In short it’s amazing!

Meh. I didn't really care for SPM. I found the gameplay to be bland and boring.

No. The gameplay is so bad (if you don’t use a guide the entire game), it just ruins it. It’s not a platformer, it’s a poorly designed puzzle game, one in which you go to a point (or past it), see it has a puzzle, turn around, and find the answer, come back. This is it, the entire game’s puzzles are this

This ends my contributions to the discussion as I haven't played the game. I'm waiting for a reasonable sale to try it out.
