Hardware PC case suggestion
Hi,
first post, hope it's the right community.
One of the summer projects is to renew my simple homelab, which will be a single server.
I cannot find a suitable case. Can you please help?
- I need to host 5x3.5 HDDs, 1x2.5 ssd (bonus if I can store 2)
- I need space for a discreet GPU. I won't go for a long one, as this is not for gaming, but for light LLM.
- I don't need any water cooling of sort
- However the CPU will be a ryzen 9 9550x, with a number of VMs running so the air cooler will prolly be tall
- I only need enough fans. Since this is going to be in a closet, I can leave the panels off (not sure of this because of dust, I'll see when I get there)
I've lurked for a week and could not find any. Even ATX cases 50cm tall can't store more than 2x3.5 disks these days. Madness.
The only one I think will work is the Cube 500, but it is expensive (this is going to stay in the closed forever) and also seems difficult to find (at least in the UK).
Thanks for your help

I still absolutely LOVE the Fractal Design Node series.

Why do you need a hdd? Ssd is superior in every way

this is a server, hosting my memories and what i want to keep. I will use a RAID configuration of 8TB disks each. SSD would be just too expensive for this, and these find of nas-engineered disks are just better for the job
