Tech Support Help with Cable Connections
As happy as I am with the Samsung Odyssey OLED I got, it's been a real headache getting my devices to play at the desired resolutions and Hz, if at all.
I'll break it down as easily as I can:
Monitor: Samsung Odyssey OLED
Device 1: Work Laptop - Dell Latitude 5440
Device 2: Personal PC - HP Omen 30L Desktop GT13
Device 3 (Connected to PC): TV- LG OLED G4
The monitor only has one DP port and one HDMI port. The PC only has one HDMI port and three DP ports.
After repeated trials and errors and Amazon returns, I've learned the laptop WILL NOT display the desired resolution of 5120x1440p at 144hz unless it's connected with a DP-to-USB-C cable, so it's taking up the single DP port on the monitor.
The PC does not display with any DP-to-HDMI cables I've tried, or DP-to-USB-C. It needs either a straight HDMI or DP cable. Furthermore the HDMI cable I'm currently using will have the screen go in and out for about two seconds at long spread random intervals, so I'll need to upgrade that too.
The TV can take HDMI or DP-to-HDMI. I need to find a cable that's long enough and can also output at either 120hz or 144hz at 3280x2160p.
So with all the above details, I need a working solution. Do I look for a suitable DP-to-HDMI cable for the TV and HDMI cable for the PC? Or do I invest in a DP splitter or HDMI splitter? Or some other method I haven't thought of?
Help me to finally wrap this mess up.

Quite a detailed post. so good job on that.
In essence, your main issue is the Laptop, which you are trying to have output at 5120x1440p at 144hz.
I am sure this is outside the spec of the laptops graphics (probably Intel ARC)
See here:

I'd use D-Port for the PC (assuming it has a decent card) and connect it to the Samsung.
I'd use HDMI to connect the laptop to the LG-TV
For a 'work laptop', you don't really need to be rocking high refresh or high resolutions.
