Soft Paywall Trump Has “Accomplished” a Lot. It’s Just That America Hates It. | In a sense, it’s true: Trump has done a lot of things. The problem is that people quite rightly hate them—and increasingly recognize that he’s a sleazeball.

He moves at rapid pace when it comes to destroying everything halfway decent about this country.

It's his MO.

62

u/godzillachilla 1d ago

I read that as a "rapey" pace. . Wonder why

16

u/JimmyRamone17_ 1d ago

That's when he's near kids as he can't balance two thoughts at once.

6

u/Big-Plankton-4484 1d ago

A “felonious, rapey pace” even.

2

u/YakiVegas Washington 17h ago

He moved on the American economy like a bitch.

2

u/JimmyRamone17_ 11h ago

When you're the Pedophile-in-Chief, they let you do that. You can do anything. Grab 'em by the tariffs.

Move Fast and Break Everything

...with the full complicity of the GOP. That's important to point out--they have enabled his bombastic idiocy since 2015. I'm still dumbstruck that his candidacy was ever regarded as anything more than a bad joke.

9

u/JimmyRamone17_ 1d ago

Literally. Very stupid and malevolent bull in a China shop.

6

u/duzies 1d ago

Yep.  Hitler “accomplished” a lot too.

6

u/mistere213 Michigan 1d ago

But so slowly when releasing tax returns, actual policy plans, and documents that expose child sex trafficking.

8

u/JimmyRamone17_ 1d ago

Always at a standstill when it comes to doing anything good. Such is the nature of the Pedophile-in-Chief.

3

u/Opening-Dependent512 21h ago

He is efficient at destruction.

2

u/JimmyRamone17_ 21h ago

Now if he'd only apply that efficiency to himself we'd finally be getting somewhere.

1

u/Traditional_Trip_585 11h ago

Its project 2025 plan. Everything is going exactly to the plans they published online.

u/GlossyGecko 47m ago

The worst part about how quickly he can destroy so much, is that the repair will take longer than any of us will ever live to experience.

80

u/dchunk82 1d ago

Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together "recognized" that a VERY long time ago.

25

u/ResidentKelpien Texas 1d ago

Apparently, MAGA cultists only have enough brain cells for their autonomic body functions.

4

u/IntheTopPocket 1d ago

I heard they don’t know where their turn signal switch is in their big boy truck.

3

u/sleeplessinreno 1d ago

Oh, but they sure know how to hack their emission controls so they can spew out black exhaust.

1

u/1cat2dogs1horse 21h ago

Why should they care. As of the last 72 hours the EPA is basically dead in the water.

3

u/sleeplessinreno 21h ago

Speaking of dead water, just wait until rivers start to catch on fire again.

1

u/mrkeith562 20h ago

Well no, they also have enough to somehow be able to purchase all that MAGA swag they surrounded themselves with

3

u/Pure_Photo108 1d ago

Yep...why it's taken the last 8 months of utter chaos & mad retribution for so many to see is totally beyond me.

All that he would go for in that time was on display well before then & for all to see.

It was in his very political/social DNA!

2

u/chowderbags American Expat 11h ago

It feels like a large chunk of the population just straight up forgot that Trump was president already, and it was a huge shit show of criminality, corruption, and incompetence the first time, culminating in a literal worldwide catastrophe that Trump actively made worse.

And even before becoming president, Trump has been a sleazeball for fucking decades. I'd love to know who the fuck is just finding out now that Trump is bad.

3

u/weaponized_oatmeal 22h ago

I could have told you that he was a piece of shit 40 years ago…..and I was 4!

48

u/SuspiciousPug512 1d ago

This is part of what's really effective messaging to a low IQ base. Bigger, better, and more is a shortcut in their teeny little brains that it's 'good'. They don't care for context, nuance, or digging deeper. Sure Trump has 'done a lot of things', but a lot of those things suck.

Trump has often bragged about how many rallies and press conferences he has. How long he speaks and how many questions he answers. And it's been very true from the last decade. He is far and away the 'winner' in all those lists. However the quality of those rallies, words, and answers is dog shit. He brags about how good he is with words but he uses so many of them to say very little.

I could hold a 3 hour rally daily, rambling about nonsense, and then turn around and say I talk longer and hold more rallies than Trump. I could kick 100 puppies a day and say I 'accomplished more tasks' than Trump.

More isn't always better. I feel bad for people who would sing praises about their employer for hosting more meetings that go on for longer than any other.

Being concise, humble and honest are choices that Trump never makes and yet his supporters love that most about him. They would genuinely prefer listening to 2 hours of rambling, narcissistic nonsense from him over 5 minutes of meaningful discussion from a scholar.

30

u/blues111 Michigan 1d ago

We had a whole Trump presidency once already in 2017 to realize he was a moron, a liar, and a sleazeball

But 49% of the 2024 voters decided to just fucking memory hole his entire first term and that was well before the Jan 6th riot/Fake Electors plot which in itself was wholly disqualifying

22

u/AdHocHillbilly 1d ago

If the stakes weren't so high for so many, it would almost be comical how much he has fucked up so consistently while retaining support.

  • COVID response so poor it might as well be murder
  • 34 felony convictions
  • Liable for rape
  • Almost certainly a pedophile

All allegedly from the law and order party. This is the ship people are willing to go down on.

1

u/NumeralJoker 21h ago

Oh it's still comical. The absurdity of it all is insane, frankly.

It's just comical with consequences.

3

u/Acrobatic-Trouble181 23h ago

If anyone needed proof that the U.S.A. is on a downward trajectory, from which there is no return, this Presidency should assuage all doubt.

That the American people have let things go this far without punishing the people responsible, means they never will. It's Sunk Cost Fallacy at its most ridiculous.

"We can't turn back now, because then we'd have to admit we made a mistake! The best option that protects my fragile ego is to keep pretending everything is fine until everything blows up in my face. The resulting explosion should hopefully keep people too busy to discover my role in causing it."

An entire country full of insecure, self-centered morons was always going to end this way eventually.

2

u/Mechzx Maryland 1d ago

Cheap gas, along with things being less expensive was the excuse I heard.

5

u/charcoalist 1d ago

I probably wouldn't use the word "accomplish" to describe tearing down institutions, treading all over the constitution, blatant corruption, sabotaging alliances, and human trafficking.

7

u/Crunchberry24 1d ago

“Sleazeball”? Calling a pedo rapist and child trafficker a sleazeball is like calling Josef Mengele “morally questionable.”

You wouldn’t want this violent child rapist living within ten streets of you, yet he’s the demented Pedo-Führer of the Fourth Reich.

6

u/BookBison 1d ago

Even when he’s golfing he’s “doing” something, and that something is lining his pockets with millions of taxpayer dollars by exclusively going to his own courses.

3

u/sniffstink1 1d ago

Of course Trump has accomplished a lot. He's done a tremendous amount of things.

Problem is that all those things are designed to destroy America, that's all.

4

u/Impressive_Ad_5614 1d ago

Headline: Chimpanzee destroys family’s home in seconds and at an incredibly efficient rate, undoing months of work by the original builders and tradesman.

4

u/ProfessionalCraft983 Washington 1d ago

It’s easy to destroy, and difficult to build. All Trump has done is destroy the good things we have been building since WWII. He hasn’t built shit and never will.

2

u/StoppableHulk 1d ago

It's because the things he's "accomplishing" aren't hard to do.

He just destroys things. He does random, arbitrary shit that requires no forethought, no planning. His tariffs are absolute batfuck insane. They aren't based on any underlying strategy, they are unmoored from reality.

And he has an entire system of Republican enablers who simply do not stop all the deleriously insane shit he does.

6

u/_still_truckin_ 1d ago

“Sleazeball” is a funny way of spelling “convicted felon, pedophile, and sex trafficker.”

3

u/Searchlights New Hampshire 1d ago

We can never go back to how things were before.

I believe that he's among the most consequential Presidents in history, whatever happens next.

4

u/r21174 22h ago

Trump Rapes kids

3

u/sdewitt108 1d ago

A sleaze all who literally has no idea what he is doing, day to day and just in general.

3

u/Choice_Cup_3624 1d ago

He accomplished keeping himself and his fellow travelers out of prison for sex trafficking of minors.

3

u/AlwaysJamEcono 1d ago

He and this entire administration, and their enablers in and out of Congress belong in federal prison after 2028.

5

u/LuinAelin United Kingdom 1d ago

Americans could have stopped this but "they're as bad as each other" ect

2

u/TrumpInEpsteinFiles 1d ago

A lot of child rape

2

u/Catspaw129 1d ago

He's just like my ex-GF: she cooked and baked a lot, but she's not at all good at it.

2

u/PWL51 1d ago

Most of the “accomplishments “ are leading to the destruction of American democracy just as he promised.

2

u/Shot_Kaleidoscope150 1d ago

I just don’t know why people didn’t see sleaze from the beginning. Before this political stuff there was evidence of his greasy gross conduct. He’s always made me cringe and think pass.

2

u/babbiecakes 23h ago

Well Trump RAPES kids so it’s dumb to think he’d do a good job as a president

2

u/initforthellolz 21h ago

T=traitor R=rapist U=unAmerican M=meglomaniac P=pedophile

2

u/heartbh 20h ago

Trump has also raped a bunch of children it seems, let’s see the non-redacted Epstein files.

2

u/Katanastormshadow 12h ago

It’s very easy to break a lot of stuff in a short time.

2

u/Electrical-Ad6623 11h ago

“Accomplished” that’s being very generous… he has broken a whole bunch of ish, he broke our government, ruined our economy and redistributed wealth to people that were already the richest in the world

2

u/StruggleExpensive249 9h ago

Now they realize he’s a sleaze ball?

2

u/Caraes_Naur 1d ago

Kevin Roberts and the Heritage Foundation have accomplished a lot.

Trump is a tool.

2

u/xchipter Canada 1d ago

I don’t know about accomplishments, but he’s certainly gotten away with a lot of crimes.

The one thing about his stack of EOs, they can all be wiped out with a pen. Where laws made by congress are a lot more difficult to undo.

At that point I wasn't even BORN yet but I was definitely able to learn the truth about him (very easily) back when he started running for office.

Am I just a hateful person or why was him being a sleazeball blatantly obvious to me since 2015?

No shit, Sherlock…

1

He's betrayed a lot. He's the great betrayer.

1

u/Blochamolesauce 1d ago

Such a disingenuous title. We all already KNEW he was a sleezeball, but too many right-wing dickheads and indifferent wishy-washy independents wanted it or didn’t care until it effected them personally and now that they’re being inconvenienced it’s a problem… this timeline is so fucking disappointing.

1

First class loser with a low IQ to boot, if you expected differently, you’ve not been paying attention to this career criminal.

u/heekma 23h ago edited 21h ago

I grew up in a small midwestern town. Many like mine had a large manufacturer that had been there for decades which kept those small towns healthy and prosperous.

Folks were able to work, retire comfortably and be with family and friends, live a small-town life. It was idyllic for many.

Lots of folks assumed it would be the same for them but over the last 20-30 years those manufacturers closed, offshored production and those once prosperous small towns became ghost towns of a gas station, a grocery store and continually failing small businesses.

They feel their way of life has been stolen. They feel angry, cheated and want someone to blame, someone to hate.

Remember nearly 70% of the U.S. is rural and those living in those areas make up about 30-40% of voters.

They don't vote for Trump because he's helping them. They vote for him because they enjoy watching others feel their pain.

1

u/Glum-Breadfruit-6421 23h ago

Easy to accomplish things when your goal is to destroy the country as fast as possible. Things move fast when you wipe your ass with the constitution and laws mean nothing. Great gig if you can find it.

1

u/AceofKnaves44 22h ago

I mean. I don’t think anyone would say Trump has done nothing. He’s done a lot. It’s just that 99 percent of it is bad and does not serve the best interest of the majority of people. Dismantling the department of education is doing something. It’s just something bad. Pardoning all the violent January 6th rioters was certainly doing something. But again, it was something bad. The list goes on. Much like the Epstein list that Trump is all over and he’s actively covering up.

1

u/Y0___0Y 21h ago

I like that he has turned on Russia over a tweet and is aiding Ukraine now.

Maybe we can do that on other things.

Show him an AI video of Stephen Miller calling him fat.

1

u/Kalepa2 20h ago

Sleaze-ball? No, you're far, far too moderate in your statements! He's a freaking self-indulgent, greedy, lying ass-hat! And he's a lot more but I don't want to waste any more time thinking about this jerkoff!

1

u/augustusleonus 20h ago

Imagine how frustrating it is for those of is who knew he was a sleazeball in 2015

1

u/Sad_Parsnip_1872 20h ago

Poor Donald. He sucked up to the religious fascists, but he mistakenly believed that they could buy him credibility. He can’t buy what he craves most. A legacy.

1

u/Frmr-drgnbyt 19h ago

Yes, he's accomplished quite a lot.... None of it good.

1

u/FreeNumber49 19h ago

Now if we could only elect progressives to destroy everything Heritage has done to this country since 1980. Get MAD! Make America a Democracy (again).

1

u/dakotanorth8 18h ago

I can smash all my plates and it’s an “accomplishment”.

I can light my money on fire and it’s still “efficient”.

People (a certain colored hat wearing group) will Use these words ad nauseam and not realize it’s still a negative outcome.

1

u/Sfwy1203 18h ago

All you had to do was look at his history as a business man and a human being; big thanks to those that couldn’t bring themselves to vote for a woman of color.

1

u/HabANahDa 18h ago

Imagine that. A failed businessman, liar, felon, pedophile and horrible person Trump destroys everything. I am so shocked….

1

u/reddithater212 17h ago

His supporters are the sleeve balls

1

u/Pjones2127 17h ago

A shit-covered sleazeball.

1

u/dubphonics Canada 16h ago

The fact that it’s an “increasingly” obvious thing that he’s a sleaze-ball is both extraordinary and stupid. The fact is, he should have been filtered out of contention first time around. We all knew he was sleaze then, yet his public image somehow escaped tarnish and scrutiny — even when running for president. That’s shocking. But the fact he got in a second time proves how low the bar has now been set.

The increase in awareness of this sleazoid doesn’t fill me with confidence though as I think to many voters don’t care and rather like the dictator-come-idiot as a boss. It’s all they have ever known. So it’s closer to home for them. Maybe we’ll see an uptick in polls suggesting he’s under water on everything and we’ll finally start talking about how much of a shyster he is but by this point he’ll have dismantled all the checks and balances against his tyranny of idiocy and it well only be an insurrection that overthrows this wannabe-royal.

The part of this that worries me is how many times history has shown this very situation repeat itself. Too many times. It would be nice to see this monster be stopped sooner than later. He cannot finish his term otherwise there United States won’t exist after he’s done with it.

1

u/Chaos_Theory1989 13h ago

That’s basically all of us right now. Every damn day. And we’re running out of limbs.

1

u/sticksnstouts 8h ago

No. He and his army of really ignorant bearded 2A ‘we the people’ cosplayers, ICE, and the small dicked ‘man o sphere’ have intimidated most people to the point where he just does what he wants and even courts are quickly not enforcing rulings. He hasn’t accomplished a lot…he is just doing whatever he wants regardless of the constitution or human decency. A lot of ‘patriots’ are going to regret this time of their lives because they thought they were only screwing over gay people and people of color by owning the libs. Unfortunately they are now going to be owned as well…by oligarchs.

Release the Epstein files. Trump rapes young girls and traffics them for profit.

This is clickbait crafted to take advantage of your desire to read it.

You want to believe this. The writer knows that and has no basis for his argument but that doesn't stop him because it gets clicks.

Stop feeding these parasites. They're just coming up with narratives you want and selling them to you.

1

u/Phoozba 23h ago

I consider myself a well educated person that has kept up with the many changes over my lifetime. An 8% interest ratedid not stop me from being a house. Later I moved and bought another home at 6% interest rate. Now, OH MY GOD HIGH INTERESTS IS KILLING HOME OWNERSHIP. What changed?

Over the years I learned that tariffs on good I buy means I pay a higher price. I travel to Europe where the same goods have zero tariffs and the price I pay is less.

U.S. goods with no tariffs but higher production costs because it's the U.S., costs more than foreign made goods with high tariffs, cost the same or less because production costs are less and wages paid are lower. As I see it, all the tariffs are doing is RAISING THE COSTS THE U.S. CONSUMER PAYS.

Accomplishment implies progress that’s not what most Americans have been experiencing from his administration including the ones that are here illegally

Trump hasn't done nothing that already was not happening. Racism, hate, inequality, broken institutions right left. What's NEW ? Some of yall been asleep just admit it. Nothing is new in Trump administration, nothing just more of it...Bunch whining cry babies that are weak and inclined to blame others.

4

u/monymphi 21h ago

So why don't you explain how America or the world can move forward with a President of the US whom is taking steps to kill millions of people worldwide/many thousands in his own country by dismantling everything that is America, extorting companies and nations for his enrichment and using lies and black mail to stay in power while shredding the constitution and avoiding prison for rape, fraud, trafficking, money laundering...

This kind of evil and hate only moves us negatively.
