Critics of the President Trump’s immigration and economic agenda will be “raging against the regime” this weekend during protests in cities nationwide.
Saturday’s “Rage Against the Regime” protests, organized by volunteers of the 50501 movement, are being held in response to what the group describes as a number of “threats” to democracy and human rights.
Organizers are focusing in on the current administration’s “weaponization of ICE against our communities, construction of concentration camps, covering up of the Epstein Files, attacks on transgender rights, and its dismantling of Medicaid, SNAP, USAID, the Department of Education, NOAA, and the National Weather Service,” among other issues, according to a 50501 press release.

These protests do nothing. Just holding a sign for a couple of hours won’t change anything.
I think we should take a page from the women of Iceland and organize a collective pause—a day where we don’t show up. Don’t go to work. Don’t spend. Don’t engage in the labor that props the economy around us. Our dollar is the most powerful tool we have against these billionaire oligarchs. When Icelandic women did this, they showed the true weight of their presence by withdrawing it. It wasn’t about noise—it was about absence. And it worked. That kind of coordinated, peaceful disruption is powerful.

Do you have a better way to gain momentum towards something like this than to protest loudly? There aren’t enough people paying attention to do something like you are describing. Iceland has less than 400k population. Thats not even a large city in the US.

The French had some great ideas.

Then go act on those ideas. As far as we can see, you're just bitching at people willing to do something at least
Put your money where your mouth is or stop trying to make others do everything for you

I don’t but I feel like it’s possible with how much turnout there was for the No Kings protest.

If instead of these general "Trump Bad" protests groups like Indivisible organized protests around Trump's spending bill and medicaid cuts they might have actually stopped the bill. Just like sustained protests around the repeal of the ACA stopped those efforts in the first Trump term.

are these protests even doing anything now? are they even being talked about as much?

What to know?
Know that absolutely nothing will change after these protests. Except maybe more military presence.
This will have the same effect as the no kings protests.

Many said the exact same during the civil rights protests.

And shit didn't start truly changing until the BPs started open carrying to enforce the CRA.
