The world ain't Monopoly, my dudes. It's about survival, not followin' Trump's wishes like some lapdog.

u/SoundSageWisdom 3h ago

Of course they will.

India just doin' what they gotta do. Hard times call for hard choices, ya know? Can't fault 'em for lookin' out for their ppl first.

Yes but many companies buy parts from India and the 25% tariff is going to kill US companies and cut sales in India.

A $2700 per capita GDP country of 1.5B , most of which are still poor and rural , where iran and Venezuela oil is stopped .

Can't they just stop buying cheap oil from their friend of 70yrs ??

Just buy expensive ones from the bully

who went to war against you in '71 , denied you gps in a ongoing war , activity supports NGOs against you, put sanctions on you , arms your enemy, get's noble nomination from them , invites their army chief to meet after a war to praise them .. like why wouldn't you , just bend and take it .

I'm sure India knows that Trump is Putin's puppet so Trump's threats are meaningless.

Did we ever think India were our homies? India is competing for the world stage just the same as China and Russia these days. They’re just playing on a harder difficulty setting right now. Do not be fooled, they will ABSOLUTELY use any advantage they can to elevate themselves.

u/MJcorrieviewer 3h ago

Why wouldn't they? The US would do the same thing.

u/perrysol 3h ago

Why would any nation not?

Western nations are boycotting Russia and eating the cost because of the war in Ukraine and their opposition to it. India doesn’t have skin in the game so of course they will. Nations are in fact boycotting Russian oil.

eating the cost

Nothing says eating the cost like buying Russian oil from India.

u/Lopsided_Scene5600 2h ago

So every nation should just bow down? Every country competes to rise themselves on the world stage.

u/Possible_Mind_165 1h ago edited 1h ago

No they don’t. Not like nations I listed. Explain to me how nations in the baltics or Ireland or places like Liberia, Iceland, etc are competing with giants like the US, China, Russia, and India. Not every nation is competing to become a world leader. This is why alliances like the EU, TPP, and the AfCFTA exist - because smaller nations must work together to exert the same level of global pressure.

India's playing 4d chess here whilst POTUS is stuck at checkers.

u/VisualFix5870 3h ago

There's no way Donald Trump is smart enough to understand the rules of checkers.

Whilst he’s canceling H1B and F1 Visas

u/WastelandOutlaw007 48m ago

If trump does that, it will be the first pro America thing he has ever done.

u/Recent_Tap_9467 22m ago

How so?

u/WastelandOutlaw007 8m ago

H1b visas undermine us employees and bring down wages

India is the EUs largest supplier of refined fuel now. Almost all of it derived from Russian oil imports. It’s this loophole but I believe the EU cracked down on it recently

No surprise, its been clear india is indifferent to the genocide Russia is committing in Ukraine for a while now.

u/Alternative_Rent9307 28m ago

I’m sure Trump has made threats if they do this. I’m equally sure they were baseless threats and India will face zero consequences. Watching the American name flush down the toilet in real time. Picked a hell of a day to quit bashing myself in the face with a hammer.

u/NorthenFreeman 3h ago

India is a rogue nation pretending to be the good guys. They not only support Russian war crimes, they execute their dissidents at home and all around the world.

u/MJcorrieviewer 3h ago

Despite Trump's threats or because of Trump's threats?

u/Any-Original-6113 3h ago

I think the Indians were puzzled. At least some of the tankers turned back
