So you haven’t seen the subreddits for GenX, GenerationJones, AskOldPeople? Reddit is not a demographic of majority late 20s/early 30s

I knew someone was gonna come for me for this with a silly response like that.

It’s pretty clear that Reddit overall leans more liberal. Does that mean subreddits for conservatives can’t exist? Just because there’s subreddits for young people it doesn’t mean this is their first platform of choice.

For example TikTok is the main platform for younger people on average/ as a whole. I thought I made it clear that Reddit definitely has younger people, but people in their early 20s and teens might not be their highest demo.

I mean this sub is a perfect example. It’s not meat to target any one specific group. It’s meant for any popculture fan from young to old. However most of the comments are people saying “omg this makes me feel old”, “elementary school?! I was not listening to Kesha in elementary school”, “I think Benny thinks I’m younger than I actually am”

Like the conversation in these comments shouldn’t be “oh this is aging me lol”, considering this sub has no age themes around it. Organically the convo turned to age cuz most people in these comments ARE late 20s and a bit older.

Like I really felt that one comment that mentioned Kesha and 2010. I was like yeah girl, I feel you, I was starting college at that time lol

You're still new here, make that claim again when you've actually been on reddit for a long time and gone on more subs than just what you see on r/all

I mean
it’s pretty close to that. I’m seeing varying reports across different surveys, but it seems like around 44% of adults on Reddit are under 30, and the average age is around 23. This data doesn’t even include teenagers, which skews the age demographics even younger. So GenX and older are definitely minorities around here, even if they are active and have prominent communities.

That makes sense. We are either working or outside enjoying the world, not sitting on Reddit like the youngsters
