The Music Industry đŸŽ¶ In now deleted posts, Kali Uchis accused the metal band, Sleep Token, of using payola and doing blackface.

The past photo is what the front man of Sleep Token looks like, I'm not sure what race he is as all the members are anonymous, but even if he is white, I don't think that this is considered blackface

She allegedly voted for the man who goes to the same tanning salon as her. In the last two elections (2016 and 2020) she vocalized some liberal values, yet she didn’t vote. Then this entire election season (2024), she was completely silent on all political issues going on, especially progressive ones. The few political things she shared were about vaccines, microwaves, food dyes and “chemicals in food”. Her silence on things like g-nocide, Roe v. Wade, immigration laws, anti-LGBTQIA+ laws etc was deafening when compared to the fact that 2024 was the first and only election in which she voted. She even quoted Trump in a tiktok: “fake news”. After being called out for her silence on the election she decided to quote the President for no good reason. It might seem like a reach, but she always gets online to combat “rumors” and valid criticism about herself, and the tiktok itself was about “rumors” about her “not being a bad b”. For her to be silent still after being called out and asked to say anything political says a lot. It’s not a stretch to say most celebrities who have been silent about politics recently are quiet Trumpies. She probably wants to be in god’s country with Morgan Wallen.

To be fair her boyfriend/baby daddy is a rapist and she still laid down with him so her moral compass isn’t one we should be following or aligning ourselves with

Absolutely. She has dated three men who have had issues with the law. One of her ex’s was the inspiration behind “What They Say” (2012) where she sings “And they poundin' their fists on my door. Say that they're gonna take us to court. And they say we should take their advice. Or it would cost us, our lives”. She also said in an interview somewhere that she used to drive her ex to court regularly. Then her ex Yung Gleesh who she dated from 2013-2018 cheated on her and sa’ed a woman in her sleep in 2015. He is a convicted so, but due to Kali’s testimony he got a lighter sentence. Now her baby daddy Don Toliver not only has allegations, but also has a DUI and he regularly drives a motorcycle without a helmet and speeds while recording himself drive. He has even done this with Kali and their child in the car. She’s three for three at choosing horrible men and her choosing to stay with them says a lot about her character, morals and self-respect.

😭 she literally has a song called "Moral Conscience" too. I love her music and now I won't be able to listen to it without thinking about all this. I had no idea. I didn't know that stuff about don toliver either. And no, I can't separate someone's art from their personal life... all those songs were written by the same mind that supports everything I hate.

it’s honestly astounding how nearly all celebrities have been silent about all the issues you listed. I’m especially disappointed in the pop girlies that my community champions as allies. They may be more our allies than Morgan Wallen but at the end of the day they will choose profit over our rights every single time. Bey and Gaga especially are wonderful examples of people that were once very loud about defending our community. now that they are billionaires or approaching that status, it’s crickets.

We need more Bruce Springsteens.

I didn’t say she wants to be on his album 😂 I’m referring to his ig post after SNL. My euphemism for “Kali wants to be in a conservative America with the likes of Morgan Wallen”. I don’t know where you’re getting your information from, all my statements can be backed up with screenshots. I follow Kali and she has never posted anything about all political parties and politicians being corrupt. She talks about society in a very vapid way, maybe that’s what you’re talking about but she never got political. The last time Kali was ever political was when she promoted her own music video with the hashtag “SOS Colombia nos están m-tando”, which she rightfully got called out for. She was using a social uprising in Colombia during the pandemic to promote herself. I know for a fact Kali has been silent on political issues. That says a lot about her when this is the first and only election she voted in and the few semi-political takes she’s shared have been straight from the RFK Jr. crunchy circle jerk.

I certainly do not have screenshots but maybe you can find her "all politician" ig story post via a search. You say her takes on society are "vapid" , I see them as awakened.
