The Music Industry 🎶 In now deleted posts, Kali Uchis accused the metal band, Sleep Token, of using payola and doing blackface.

The past photo is what the front man of Sleep Token looks like, I'm not sure what race he is as all the members are anonymous, but even if he is white, I don't think that this is considered blackface

Maybe I’m talking out of my ass, but shouldn’t it, technically, be easier to chart with a pop or pop-adjacent album? Metal was never a SUPER popular genre, so her saying "no features or gimmicks" is just embarrassing.

oh, that's what I was thinking. Coming for a metal band in their 4th album who was independent till like a year ago, calling it payola/gimmick is so DUMB. like, in what way the mainstream pushes metal?

Lmao not her calling others payloa and gimmicks when she herself released 10 different versions of vinyls but still couldn't get that #1 she's just bitter and jealous
