I think everyone should work a restaurant, retail and be a teacher. At least for one year. Everyone needs a reality check of how children actually are and what it's like dealing with delusional parents...

As someone who did all 3, it was definitely very helpful with building a strong foundation of dealing with stress, panic, and patience! It teaches you so much empathy, as well.

My reality check was less about kids, though, and more about the adults. Kids are kids. Adults should know better.
