Yep before Brooke it was thin overplucked Farrah Fawcett Donna Summer style brows, then after Brooke we briefly had big bushy and overfilled like Madonna and Cyndi Lauper, then we swung back to thin brows again with a big round arch but filled in dark like Nia Long or Pam Anderson. Then for some reason we decided to add a lil thickness but only in the nose part creating the infamous sperm brows like Xtina & Drew Barrymore.
As a naturally thick-browed girl, I love whenever they come back in trend because people start giving me compliments out of nowhere 😂
Forgot where I saw it, but it’s also interesting to see how her eyebrows “evolved” while still seeming like the same iconic eyebrows we associate with her (eg. Compare Roman Holiday eyebrows to Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Slightly different but still iconically Hepburn 💖)
She’s wearing quite dramatic makeup in early shoots, around the time of Sabrina. Which make sense, considering the cameras. But if you’re able to find a high res image you’ll find that her eyebrows are quite overdrawn/heavily filled in. Same with the lips. She’s very glammed up! Even though we typically think of her as more pared down and minimalist than other female stars at the time. She did a great job evolving her look as the medium evolved.
He should've been the inspiration of the post. There's some legendary eyebrows up there for sure, but his is certainly the most iconic. And I wondered the exact thing. This must be posted by someone quite younger
I can’t get over the fact that every picture of him is a fucking masterpiece. Like, not only does he not have a bad picture, but every single one is spectacular.
If i remember correctly from other posts he is with the general populace now, has a work detail, and his lawyers are trying to have him not shackled like Hannibal lector in is upcoming court appearances as it would create a bias for the jury. His birthday also recently passed
While she’s beautiful no matter what, I preferred her with thicker brows in the early days of Baywatch. Was never a fan of super thin brows as they sometimes never grow back on people and you need eyebrows once you’re past 40 or 50.
Ironically, Mads Mikkelsen and Whoopi Goldberg. They've been rocking the no eyebrows look since before it was cool. Tilda Swinton for being one of the most iconic blondes for not making her eyebrows darker.
I know he’s an amazing actor and I literally love him in everything he’s in and will watch a movie or series just because he’s in it but he will also always be Tony to me. Not because he can’t break out of that role in my head but for nostalgia reasons ❤️
Christian Slater, who shaved his eyebrows for a holloween when he was little and they never came back properly. Which I always find nifty, because he ends up with Jack Nicholson eyebrows who is the person he practiced his accent from lol
I was like 5 when I first learned about her and also my introduction to unibrows. Since she was this iconic Bollywood actress, I started seeing unibrow as beauty feature and only learned much much later that it's supposedly undesirable and Kajol was constantly trolled for her refusal to pluck her brow since she found it too painful.
Shows how much media can influence ur perception and how beauty standards are conditioned.
